i used to be his favorite child & chinese parents tend to prefer the boy over the girl so it made me feel special that my dad liked me better than my brother. he told me when people asked him when he was just married do you want a boy or a girl. he said girl. and people were like WHY? and he said the daughter listens more. he told me that like 2 years ago when i was 12. i'm 14 now. the high school i'm going to is pretty decent, my grades are pretty good. and unlike my brother i don't cry at everything or throw fits all the time. i don't do drugs or drink or anything like that.
so why doesn't my dad not love me anymore?
and as a child my mother always hated me. do you think my mother's influence as rubbed off on him? =/

i don't think i really do anything aggravate my father.

before when i called him he'd be happy

If your dad is not showing you as much attention or fatherly affection, he probably is frustrated with you. Teenagers are generally difficult to be with even at their best and it is probably difficult for him to cope with the fact that your not his "little girl" anymore.

The reason I don't think he loves me is because ever since I turned 13or14 he would hardly talk to me everyday before he would leave to work I'd always try to tell him bye and a hug he would never want to hug me and till this day he never has given me a hug and I'm 15 I pray every single day that my dad looks at me and says I love you and gives me a hug but till this day he hasn't given me a hug. Life for me is so tough every single day I wake up I have to clean my mom is always in bed my dad sleeps because he gets home around 5 in the morning he wakes up and I'm always getting yelled at I have a sibling which is 1 and my dad loves him to death😭 But he never has given me a hug told me he loves me. I'm always helping my dad but I guess I'm just a worst son. I really hope one day I can go into foster for I can feel loved By someone else.

Sweetheart, nothing in what you have wrote here gives me any indication whatsoever to support your claim that u don't think your dad loves you anymore. Perhaps, he has other things on his mind right now and although family should come first above all else, he may not be paying as much attention to you as he should right now, but it in no way means he doesn't love you anymore.
Also I doubt your mom hated you as a child, she may have placed values on you at the time that are Chinese tradition, I do not know as I don't know what Chinese family traditions are except what you wrote, but you may want to sit her down and ask her.
You're 14, why don't you sit down with your dad and tell him how you feel and let him answer your question...after all he is your dad and he will answer your question truthfully.
Never be afraid to talk with your parents about anything, being calm and respectful of them at the same time. You will have many loves in your future but you will only have one mom and dad, and they both love you dearly, as you do them.

I don't think he loves you less. He probably is just giving you space to grow up and not be smothered by him or make you feel like a clingy little girl.
Talk to him and ask him if he lvoes you less. Tug at the heart strings and find out why he "seems" to have changed.
Maybe you changing into a young woman is making him a bit awkward and he doesn't want to come off as a perv.

you know< around this age girls begin pulling away from their parents because they are growing up and have friends and so many activities> maybe dad is just sort of preparing himself for that beginning of separation period> you do not need as much attention as you once did< he thinks< but you think he is being indifferent> > so < you sound like a good kid and i am sure he loves you as much as he ever did> maybe he has money troubles< or health problems or stress on the job> just talk to him> sometimes kids have to act like the adults!!

Of course he loves you. stop this comparison between you and your brother. Maybe he is caught up in his own problems. To understand love you must have understanding of people around you. Parental love runs deep indeed.

That's silly i don't think a parent can do that to their child.Maybe something is on his mind,try talking to him and asking what's wrong.It'll make you feel alot a better.
