I don't pray to Satan. Those who pray to an actual Satan are known as Theistic, Gnostic or Spiritual Satanists. And those who pray to Lucifer are usually known as Luciferians. So what gives?

I went thru the same thing. I was a Roman Catholic as well and people kept telling me that I was going to hell because members of the Orthodox Catholic Chruch were molesting boys, and that Catholics dont worship God, they only worship Mary and other saints. I say to them that what they are saying is utter bullsh'it and I hand them a dvd of one of our weekly masses. Then they come back the next day and apologize. But you can't blame them, because they just don't know what goes on during a Catholic Mass....so my advice is to tell them where to go to see an actual mass and just ignore them, It isnt their place to define you and your beliefs

Molly: a Roman Catholic Christian is still a Christian belonging to one religion. Catholicism (Roman or Orthodox) is a Christian Religion. You are a dumbas;s

Because some people consider the Roman Catholic church to BE Satanic?

They do not look at the basic teachings that the Roman Catholics share with all Christian denominations and instead inflate the differences out of proportion to reality.

Those same people lump Pagans and Wiccans into the same category so I would not get too worked up about it.

Ah, the lovely cross is back! Goody.
Are you serious?? Who in the world! Yikes. Insanity is rampant on Y!A. That's my explaination, anyway. No one who has spent even 2 minutes reading one of your Qs, or an answer you have given could possibly think that! That's nonsense.
My second guess, after insanity, would be jealousy. Which, if you think about it, is a form of insanity... At any rate, I'm sorry this happened. (Morons....) }:>

*For Molly*: The Roman Catholiic Church was founded by PETER, the first disciple Jesus recuited. I think you'll have to admit Peter was a Christian. Arguably the very FIRST! Christian...

As a former protestant fundamentalist, I used to use the term 'born again' to mean someone who has 'accepted Jesus into their heart' and therefore is guaranteed salvation regardless of their future decisions. Now, after studying the Bible, the early Church Fathers, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, I recognize that I was 'born again' in baptism when I was united to Christ and made a new creation. I also recognize that 'accepting Jesus into your heart' is not a one time decision but a daily way of life that includes following God's commandments and repenting/seeking reconciliation when we fall into sin. Only if we pursue in this type of ''accepting Jesus into your heart' (which the Bible calls 'abiding in Christ') are we promised salvation according to the Bible and the earliest teachings of the Church. -May the peace of Christ be with you.

As a former Roman Catholic, I've actually had people tell me that they think Catholics worship STATUES...lol!
This type of thinking is usually found among the born-agains....you know, the ones running this country.
Sigh.

Edit: Molly, you've never heard of a "Roman Catholic Christian"?! I'm not even sure how to address that...!

I think some people believe the Catholic Church to be "of the devil" because they feel that so many of its teachings are against the bible and therefore must be part of Satan's plan or something.

People who hold this ABSURD notion have no knowledge of Church history, much less the divine authority to interpret the bible for themselves. And they seem to miss the fact that it was the Protestant revolution that was a mastermind of Satan. He used it as a means to splinter the true Church.

I thought lucifer and satan are the same entity. The devil goes by many names and if you pray to or worship the devil (by whatever name you call him) then you are against our Lord and Saviour. I have never heard of a Roman Catholic Christian either. You are either one religion or another or (and I believe this is possible) no religion and still believe in God. BTW worshipping the devil IS a religion for those who may not have known.
