I have ordered the surround sound speakers and i am now looking for a nice amp to go with them. I am limited to what i can get as i live on an island. I have been looking at the Marantz SR 4001 and SR5001 does anyone have this set up?

Great choice on the speakers!. I also own KEF Speakers and i am a big fan. Well anyways i find Onkyo receivers to sound good with KEF speakers. but either or the Marantz will do also.
If you wan't to spend a little more you can buy A Cambridge audio reciever that will blow away Denon and Onkyo's recievers.

Hi.The greatest compromise in a Receiver is the use of a single power supply for the Tuner,Preamp and Power Amps. The Denon AVR 3808CI is one of the best at the moment. It has 3 INDEPENDENT POWER TRANSFORMERS and 6 INDEPENDENT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS.I think it would be a good match for your KEFs.(Much better than Marantz) The only way to improve on a Receiver is to buy a separate Preamplifier Processor and a 5,6,7,or more channel Power Amplifier.Of course you will require a very good Source component to give the Denon the best possible signal from the Source..Here is a link on the Denon.
