Imagine a loved one has cancer.
Do you pray your god for a cure for the cancer or would you prefer the person to die so that he/she goes to heaven for an eternal life? Or do you consult a scientifically trained doctor for some form of treatment?

This is to batgirs2good.
Please do not be offended by the question. It is not meant to offend. I can share you grief. Do not think that I have not lost a loved one. We buried our loved in a woodland. She died bravely fighting leukemia. We don't believe in god.

Of course I consult a physician.
I do not have to imagine. My dad,my twin sister, and my mother ALL died with cancer. They had the best surgeons.
I prayed for a miracle. They all died.
Perhaps no one you love has ever died. Perhaps you are just being callous here.
I saw my twin scream in pain towards the end, and YES, I did pray for God to take her to heaven so that she would not suffer any more. There was NOTHING the doctors could do.
I am offended somewhat by this question.
99.9% of those who are Christians go to a doctor.
You are not very well informed if you think otherwise.
I do not have to imagine anything, thanks. I KNOW what it is like. Do you?

my aunt has cancer. i pray every day that her doctors treat her with the very best medicine and treatments available and that she lives her life to the fullest. I pray that she isn't in any pain. I pray that she enjoys every day as if it is her last and she doesn't let the small things get her down. I pray that she always remembers to laugh and that she eats desert first. I pray that the doctors can cure her cancer, and if they can't then that they can make her as comfortable as possible. I pray that she knows how much she is loved.
I pray that she knows how brave she is....

You pray and ask God to reveal the answer to you but if whoever it is dies they will be asleep in Christ, they won't be in heaven yet. You should read 1 thessalonians 4:16 or 17 one of them.God will give you an answer to your prayer whether it's what you want to hear or not. I'll pray for you and your family. God Bless!!

I pray for all three. I pray for a cure if there should be one. I pray that God do his will and make them comfortable.
I have lost someone so dear to me, that I have been known to pray selfishly too.
I do know that when I pray, it really helps me.
I also believe that we need the doctors to help heal us.

As a Christian there is no question that I go get the best medical care I can find. At the same time I pray for healing and if not forthcoming - then I pray for a comfortable death.

I'll check the doctor first obviously. If they tell me they can't do anything i'll pray to God that his will be done. If its there time theres nothing we can do except ask God to make it as painless and peaceful as possible

Considering medical science these days is about as worthless as prayer when it comes to cancer, I'd just try to make them as comfortable as I could for what remained in their life.
