I am a 16 year old male and weigh 200 pounds. I realize that is very unhealthy, and I am willing to work hard to lose the fat and the weight. I'm just tired of being overweight.

Currently I do 20 push-ups and 50 sit-ups/crunches a day, as well as 20 minutes of walking/jogging.

What are some other things I can be doing? What is the best way to lose the fat? Keep in mind, I am willing to work hard.

Thanks!

first off, good for you for trying to become healthier!!!!!! You sound very motivated and you should be proud!
set realistic goals to work towards, but don't be dissapointed if you don't get everyone at the exact time you wanted to, as long as you work for them.
eliptical machine burns lots of calories. more then running. Try to get a variety of excercises into your routine.
join a sport. Excercise doesn't have to feel like hard work. If you aren't very good at sports (I'm not) Try a no cut sport like an intramural.
make sure to watch what you eat try to eat about 2000 calories a day, depending on your activity level. Make sure you get the right balance of food too. Eating 2000 calories of ice cream won't do you any good!
Make sure that when you eat it's because you're hungry, not cause you're bored, depressed etc. If you really want food tell yourself maybe in a 1/2 an hour. then in a half an hour you may have forgotten about food, you may be hungry, or you may need to give yourself another 1/2 hour! Giving yourself a small goal to wait will be easier then just thinking wait till you are hungry.
Nomatter what anyone tells you, don't do anything dangerous and don't give up. It takes time.
Make sure when you are hungry that you do eat or else your body will store all your fat because it thinks you're starving it!
don't do anything dangerous and don't give up. It takes time. Pills either don't work or are dangerous. It isn't worth the risk.
There is no miracle diet. Balance your calories with your excercise accordingly and you'll be fine. (I know it sounds easier then it is) You don't need all those advertised diets. But if it helps you to have them as a guideline research them to makesure they're healthy. Generally ones that limit carbs aren't good for you.
there's a lot of research online so I'm sure you can do a lot more research there!!!!!! Just make sure what you do is healthy. Any doubts, talk to a doctor.
congratulations on your positive life changing decision! The best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!

sit ups wont help - they will only make your belly look bigger - all they do is build muscle
to lose belly fat you have to lower your body fat percentage which you achieve by healthy diet and exercise
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

One exercise that targets the stubborn stomach area is called The Bicycle. To do The Bicycle, simply lay on the floor pressing your lower back to the ground. Your hands are beside your head. Bring your knees to an approximate 45-degree angle and slowly go through the motion of pedaling a bicycle. Your left elbow will touch your right knee and then your right elbow will touch your left knee.
