Last night, my roommate had a friend over for tea and it got really late. Our roommate policy is that no boys can spend the night. So she told him to leave and he refused. When she started yelling at him, he agreed to be driven home. When they were walking to the car, my roommate called me when I was asleep saying that her friend was acting funny. He claimed that he suffered from grand mal seizures. She didn't know what to do so we all walked back inside. When we got inside he started spasming and he kept asking for his muscle spasm medication. Now I don't remember what it was called. But I ground up a tablet and dissolved it in water and made him drink it. Five seconds later he stopped shaking and he said he was fine. My question is... was he faking it? Can you tell the difference between a fake or real grand mal seizure? He also claims he has some sort of rare cancer. I don't know.

UPDATE: We did call 911. The paramedics said it was mostly like a muscle spasm. He kept telling her "I'm about to have a seizure" and he kept complaining that his back and his neck hurt. He had also had some alcohol hours before.

With a grand mal seizure the person will fall asleep for up to half an hour after the seizure as it tires them out big time. I really think you two girls have been had big time, as no way can you start having a seizure and be able to walk back inside. Once a seizure takes hold, that's it as it takes over the persons body and there's nothing a person can do about it, but ride it out. Yes some epileptics can talk during a seizure, but they seem to say the same thing over and over.

Seizures are abnormal electrical discharges in the brain that do not always result in visible shaking or thrashing, but is how they are typically known. My mom has epilepsy and I've never, ever known her to talk when she has a seizure. My mom gets "warnings" before her seizures in the form of a tingling in her arm. The warnings are unexplainable brain activity - sometimes a feeling/sensation or a taste, smell or lights. Most people don't remember anything after they've had a seizure.

Grand mal seizures tend to be very violent - my mom even dislocated her shoulder once and has falled off the bed many times during a seizure.

From my experience, he didn't have a seizure. A muscle spasm maybe, but definately not a seizure. I think he's trying to pull something over on you guys.

Several of my family members suffer from Grand Mal seizures. Your roomate's boyfriend does not. There is a big difference between muscle spasms and seizures. As far as I know there is no pill that will stop the onset of a seizure. Your roomate should dump the liar.

well first of all you should not ever assume someone is faking a medical condition. It is better to be safe than sorry and if something bad had happened to him because you thought he was faking and ignored him then you would have never forgiven yourself. So you made the right move. When in doubt of the situation call 911 if he is faking it he will tell you. Especially if he has to pay for an ambulance ride which is hundreds of dollars. Is he epilectic? that is nothing to fool around with. Did he drink alot of alcohol? That can set one off too. So never assume someone is faking it.

Girl I'm epileptic and I can tell you that when a person has a grand-Mal he looses consciousness and will go into convulsions for several Minuit's. Then it might be several hrs before he wakes up. One way you can tell is when he wakes up from a real seizure he should have a splitting Head ache.

Some epileptics can tell if they are going to have a siezure so don't be to scheptical about them. He shouldn't drink though. Mixing booze with his anti-siezure meds is dangurouse.

While they're having a seizure slap them across their face and observe their reaction. Or take your knuckles and rub them against their sternum up and down. This motion is painful and is how you can tell if a person is conscious or unconscious. It will hurt enough that anyone faking it will react to you and staop what they're doing it.

Most of the time you can tell pretty easily but some boob jobs are very very good and it is hard to tell. Also, if the girl had med/large boobs to begin with it makes it more difficult.
