They didn't know they had poor vision. They just thought that was life. Some people had better vision than others. Poor vision must have been common for quite a while, because it must've taken a long time for someone to figure out how to make glasses correctly. Interesting question. I've thought of that myself. But you said it out loud. Give that man a star! :)

That was before children were routinely checked for poor vision. Back then, people just thought everyone saw the way they did (much like people today before they figure out they have bad vision) and there was nothing abnormal about it. I'm sure it was just as common back then, but it wasn't very well-known. However, glasses have been around longer than you may think; I remember back in Catholic grade school learning about a saint (at the moment I can't think of which one it was) from the 16th century who was frequently pictured wearing glasses. Granted, I'm sure glasses weren't as good back then as they are now, but it's something.

Most people believe that once they are diagnosed with some vision problem and start wearing eye glasses or contact lenses to correct them, they will have to do so for life in order to see better. Those who want a permanent solution to improve eyesight typically resort to Lasik or other corrective eye surgeries. But you you can also improve your vision without surgery and can see perfectly well without using eyeglasses or contact lenses. You can check here to know how https://tr.im/33c02

I don't trust laser surgery. I'm trying to improve my vision naturally with simple eye exercises. This is the method I'm following http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=413
I guess it's the sotware you need.

I would be so screwed if there weren't glasses. Having a prescription in the -18.0 range, i'm totally dependent on them to function. If I drop my glasses the only way i can find them is by feeling for them. doesn't happen alot, but its really no fun when it does.
