I would like:
-not all power chords
-not something too easy, like Green Day's Good Riddance, more like Jack Johnson's Better Together
-can sing along (not scream along)

I'm not picky about the genre, I really just don't want to open any more tabs and see only power chords and the such haha.

How about "Blackbird" by the Beatles? Good song, if you want to try fingerstyle.

If you're looking to pick-up the acoustic guitar quickly and cheaply, consider getting Jamorama - it's $39, and it's got really good reviews. I personally like it because it has tons of video lessons and other things that really beat just learning off paper.

I bought it thinking that I just wanted to learn the basic chords and more importantly, there was a full-money-back guarantee, so I just tested it out. But I kept it.

Before you buy it, you should sign-up for the free email course - it's free and theres about 5 or 6 (I don't recall exactly how many) lesson type instructional emails you'll get that are practical and give you a sense of what it's like.

Here's a detailed post about Jamorama:

Go to Musiciansfriend.com and order the Complete Beatles Music book (on sale now for 59.95).
Go to Google and type in "acoustic guitar song books". Should get a lot of hits from that.

Go into folk or country. John Denver's Country Roads, Bob Dylan's Mr.Tambourine Man. Don McLean's American Pie, yo name but 3. Hope this helps.
