Let me guess, you either went to some tax protestor website or you saw a video on the Internet.
If you saw a video, where the director is asking people on the street if they can tell him what the tax law is and people can't answer, think about the following. Let me ask you, is there a law covering non-payment of child support? Is there a law covering counterfeiting? Is there a law covering arson? Is there a law covering embezzlement? Is there a law covering extortion? Is there a law covering fraud? Is there a law covering kidnapping? Is there a law covering perjury? Is there a law covering piracy? Is there a law covering racketeering? Is there a law covering burglary? Is there a law covering conspiracy? Is there a law covering assault? Is there a law covering murder? Can you name them? You can't without having to look them up, can you? Most people wouldn't be able to either if you approached them on the street. However, you know that they exist.
You know all of those are covered by a law because if there wasn't a law against those acts, you couldn't be charged in criminal court for committing those acts. It is the same with failure to file income taxes. If there wasn't a law covering the requirement to file and pay income taxes, you couldn't be charged in criminal court with failing to file income taxes or tax evasion.
If you have seen a video or read about someone who recently was acquitted of failure to file income tax returns, that doesn't prove "there isn't a law about income taxes" either. Think about it, if an acquittal proved there isn't a law, then O.J. Simpson's acquittal proved there isn't a law covering murder. Sounds silly, doesn't it.
BTW, there is a law covering income taxes. It is USC Title 26. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode26/usc_sup_01_26.html
I implore you to compare the points brought up by whatever source that told you there isn't an income tax law with the Tax Protestor FAQ at http://evans-legal.com/dan/tpfaq.html If you take the time to read it and examine the proof at that site, you will find that ALL tax protestor arguments are bogus and they will only cause you trouble in the long run.
Good luck,
BTW, Judy, you should provide links too. That would make your sarcastic post even sillier. :) Here's a good one... http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/
EDIT: Your little tirade only proves that you are completely ignorant of the way our economy works. You are also completely ignorant about government debt. The current government debt is $8.9 trillion. The amount of individual income taxes collected was $1.04 trillion. If all of the individual income taxes only went to pay interest on the debt, the interest rate would have to be close to 12%. It isn't anywhere near that. Also, the Federal Reserve is required BY LAW to rebate to the U.S. Treasury the interest it collects on government debt. Also, the Federal Reserve only holds about $800 billion of government debt.
Secondly, the income tax is constitutional and it ALWAYS has been. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution allows Congress to lay and collect taxes. The first income tax was collected in 1861 and Congress voluntarily rescinded it in 1872. There were various other income tax laws between 1872 and 1894. In 1895, the Supreme Court had to rule on the Pollock case. In that case, the constitutionality of a tax on income from personal property (rental income). They determined that rental income was a direct tax and therefore had to be apportioned, which it hadn't been, and was therefore unconstitutional. Since the Revenue Act of 1894 had wage income and rental income in the same section of the statute, the court couldn't split them. That's how things work. The court can't pick and choose individual words out of a statute. Every court before and after, that ever had to consider the issue of the constitutionality of income taxes has always declared them INDIRECT. In fact, in Stanton v. Baltic Mining Co., 240 U.S. 103 (1916), the court said, “by the previous ruling [in Brushaber] it was settled that the provisions of the 16th Amendment conferred no new power of taxation, but simply prohibited the previous complete and plenary power of income taxation possessed by Congress from the beginning from being taken out of the category of INDIRECT taxation to which it inherently belonged..." Tax protestors like to take the first part of that sentence out of context. If you read the entire sentence, a person can get the true meaning and not the twisted tax protestor rhetoric.

The Constitution authorizes taxation in the 16th amendment. it was passed by Congress on July 2, 1909, and ratified on February 3, 1913.
AMENDMENT XVI
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Sounds like you have an anger issue. That's OK. Bubba, your future cellmate ... he has the cure for that.
This issue has been litigated and settled by the courts. You have a constitutional amendment authorizing it. How much more "proof" do you need? There are many that didn't believe ... well that is until Bubba explained it to them in his own special way.

unfortunately the US Government found out they had a good thing going and did not want to let go of it.The only way to avoid being able to have to pay taxes is to get paid in cash by someone who would be willing to do it .We all have to have a social security number, did you know that with out one you probably wouldn't be able to get a job, almost everything we do is linked to our social security number when you father or birth a child they must obtain a social security number the minute they are born .The Bible says give to Cesar that which is Cesar's and give to God that which is Gods so I try to do both.

Keep believing that. Maybe you'll get the cell Al Capone had when the only thing they could get the guy on was income tax evasion.

THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I SAW THEM ON THE INTERNET:
Nobody ever really landed on the moon - it was a giant hoax. What you saw on TV was filmed in Utah.
Elvis is still alive, and performing marriage ceremonies in Las Vegas.
It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.
Excuse me now....I just won 2 million pounds in the online UK lottery when my email was randomly selected, and I have to go answer the email.....

Two things:
1. Title 26 of the US Code. If you think that's NOT a law, then:
2. You're an idiot.
