abnormal period?

I always have terrible period pains.I have a headache,terrible cramps,pain in my thighs and lower back as well as a feeling of being sickIt almost always goes by the second day and always eases off by then.Also my period NEVER comes on time/It's always late and is NEVER in any pattern at all.Last month it came 1 day late,the other month it was almost two weeks late.My friends say their periods last 5 days but mine last 7 days
What I was wondering is,are these symptoms normal? I've heard that most women get period pains but sheould they be as severe as mine? Also is having no pattern and having such a big gap between periods normal.Should my periods be lasting 7 days? I'm 18,have been menstruating since I was 10 and am a virgin

I've always had that much irregularity,The pain is so bad it stops me being able to do anything and trying to get to sleep is a nightmare

Some girls do have worse period pain than others and being women, we just have to deal with it. God, if it were guys they would be in bed with a hot water bottle having their forehead mopped and being fed grapes at the first sign of period pain. You sound like my friend, sometimes she can literally go months with no period sometimes they come in two week intervals. She often has to crawl from her bed to the bathroom in pain! Your periods are just very irregular. Don't worry this is normal, just try taking pain killers, wearing sea-bands to stop you feeling sick, curl up in bed with a DVD and hot water bottle and a nice hot cup of herbal tea to soothe your tum. Go see a doctor. I had really messed up periods and the doctor found a tumor bigger than a grape fruit. After I had the surgery to remove it, my periods got back on track. ( Also, I was never able to have kids but am working on doing so now.) I don't want to scare you or anything! But some times abnormal periods can be a sign of other problems. This may be normal for you. Everyone's cycle is different and does not have to be the same - 5 days vs 7 days. Talk to your doctor about the irregularity of your periods though. That does not sound normal.

i used to have very irregular periods but the doc put me on birth control to regulate them and since then I have been regular even when I was off the pill (just got back on after 2years) but I have never had any problems with menstural pain at all i have heard that being active helps a lot but again i wouldnt know since ive never had them
