Oh, you have my sympathy. I don't miss my braces one little bit.

Sandwiches, with soft bread and soft fillings like jam!
Soft fruit, like raspberries.
Soup
Cous cous, which is very easy to make (just add some hot water), but the bits might get stuck (ick!)
Extra-soft vegetables
Baked beans

Once the pain wears off you'll be able to eat most things again. The only exceptions I found were apples (oh, how i tried) and crusty bread. I also hated eating rice because it got stuck, and it put me off rice for quite some time... funny since I actually like it now!

Two pieces of bread, mashed potatoes on top of that, slice of turkey breasts, and gravy over the whole thing were my favorite when I got my braces. Stay away from popcorn, no matter how tempted you are at the movie theater. You take two bites of popcorn and then for the entire movie you have popcorn seeds stuck in your hardware. Learned that the hard way.

Alright, I have braces too. I don't bother with soft foods. Unless your braces are crazy don't worry about it, just brush you teeth well, and make sure nothing gets stuck in them.

Whenever I get my braces worked on, I normally eat mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.
