So a while ago my doc told me I have Psoriasis, and at first i was sad,but ive learned to deal with it.Its getting better and slowly leaving. I read that Psoriasis can make ur Lymphnodes infected[which ive already seen my doc b4 about] it was from black hair dye[which i now kno im allergic to] SO.........after all that when my Psoriosis does breakout on my skalp 4 of my lymps swell then go away in a few weeks. I have now read up about Hodgkins,n it says that the most common sign is the swellin nodes, however they say they r painless n sometimes mine r painful. I recently had bloodwork done and all was clear. If i had Hodgekins the cells would have shown up right? Im worried.I know i shouldnt be and im probably just worrying myself over nothing. Can someone just tell me their thoughts please? Thank You

Get a second opinion. Tell this new doctor your fears and ask him to explain it to you so that you understand.

None of your symptoms may be related at all. Only a doctor can make this determination. But, in general, bloodwork is not going to rule cancer out . . bloodwork may indicate something is wrong so the doctor will do further investigation. Two years ago my son was diagnosed with a rare abdominal sarcoma. He had blood work done a few weeks before diagnosis and it came back that he was anemic and had a low thyroid condition. No one suspected cancer in a young healthy kid. Two weeks later he had multiple tumors, malignant ascites, and stage IV cancer.

Swollen lymph nodes can be an indication of an infection somewhere in the body . . and it can also be an indication for any type of cancer, not just lymphoma. Turns on my son had abdominal sarcoma and his biopsy was taken from a lymph node in the neck. He had never even noticed that they were swollen.

Go back to your doctor and explain your concerns. Have him examine you thoroughly and don't leave until you are satisfied with what he says. If necessary go get a second opinion. I have no idea if you have cancer or not but it is far better to be safe than wind up being sorry. You probably have nothing to worry about, but sometimes we need to go with our gut feelings. Go with yours.

Swollen lymphnodes are a sign of Hodgkins but it doesn't mean you have it. It just means you need to go see your doctor about it and don't rule it out. If the bloodwork said you don't have it then you don't have it.
There are a lot of symptoms out there that are signs of cancer but they are meant to inform the public to watch out for those signs and see a doctor about them. They are also there to inform a doctor to run tests to see if the person has cancer.
You being a little overdone. When I was in high school I had constant headaches and blurred vision. Both are signs of a brain tumor. It ended up being I was over worked and needed new glasses. A few weeks ago I found a lump near my breast. A sign of breast cancer. It ended up being a swollen lymphnode from a viral infection.

Your lymph nodes usually swell to sizes greater than 1cm when fighting infection. Seeing as how you used hair dye that caused a skin infection (psoriasis) it would not be unusuall to see lymph nodes swell up as a reaction to a skin condition. What is very important that you know where these nodes are located. Among common places where nodes usually swell up are among the jugular, and mandibular regions. There are other regions where they could swell as result of an infection. Any node that swells should be checked by a physician. I recently had a node swell up on me among the jugular region. I was scared, so I went to my family doctor who told me that the node is mobile which is good. After a few weeks the node went down it has not disappeared, but this node small and movable after weeks of its initiall swelling. Nodes once swollen may never return to their original state, and these nodes are considered shotty nodes. Remember any node 1cm or smaller is generally okay, but again let me stress location, and the specific charecterisitics; of such a node. Any node that is enlarged should be seen by a doctor do not mess around with your body.

I think the best thing to do is talk to your doctor and have a sencond opinion. Since I am not a doctor I would'nt know too much about what you are going through.
But here is my opinion, If you were tested for hodgkins, and it came up negative, then you probably don't have it.
Have you ever had panic attacks because of this?
Oh and stop reading anything health related or you'll scare yourself silly.
You are probably just worrying yourself, and need to learn how to handle it. Have a better day--

I am not a doctor either but i can't understand how others can say "if you have been tested for Hodgkin's and it came back neg then you don't have it" that statement is totally untrue.
I have lymphoma grade 1 stage 4 and the test all came back neg. until they did surgery and remove it from my armpit, then that was the only way the Doctors knew I had it.
So I would tell you to go to a specialist, not to some people that think they know.

Lymphnode swelling in Hodgkins does not go away. Besides it is painless. Your blood test does not indicate that u have hodgkins.

therefore, you dont have it.
Life is short, enjoy it to the fullest. dont waste it in worrying .
