still cheating!! when people are drunk, their inhabitions are lower and they do things that would normally want to do but would not have enought courage to do while they are sober. it does NOT change their personalities and their desires, etc. If someone cheats when they are drunk, they have obviously thought about cheating when they were sober and then with lower inhabitions decided to do it when they were drunk. I have known so many people who have cheated on their bfs and gfs while being drunk. And you know what? almost all of their bfs and gfs forgave them! people use the drunk excuse because it works. Ask anyone in a good relationship and they will tell you that no matter how drunk they are that they would never EVER cheat on their significant other. So overall what is the truth about cheating when drunk and not "meaning to" or not "remembering it"? it is BULL!!! Dont believe it, no matter how hurtful it can be!

If cheating while drunk is a valid excuse, then running over someone in the street should be okay because you were drunk while driving, right? Cheating is cheating and alcohol is no excuse for it. People may say that is the only reason they did it, but they are just trying to excuse behavior they wanted to do and if they had the guts, they would do sober.

No not at all! That is why Im so glad i finally got a guy that doesnt drink or do drugs to 'put the blame on'...... I dont care how drunk or drugged you are...there are no excuses! Even if you took the excuses in consideration and gave him a second chance, it will always be in the back of your mind and you will never trust him the same. What about next time he goes out drinking? Hmmmm...think about all that and then make ur decision. I dont believe there are any excuses for cheating. If you really must stay with him just go out with him every time he drinks! Thats the only solution. GL!

This is an interesting question. You still cheated, but people do get so wasted to the point where they have no idea what they are doing. I have been there. I know people who have been there also. If a man sees that a woman is so wasted he will try to take advantage of her. I see it done all the time. It is called rape. I really wonder if people get drunk off their drinks or if someone slipped something into their drink. When a person is completely wasted they have no idea where they are or who they are with. they will have no memory of anything of the night before. I speak from experience.

It is cheating because If they know that they might cheat if they drink then they should stay at home when they drink, then they can have some friends over and drink and then no one needs to worry about who is driving. if the man really loves the woman the they won't put them self's at risk of cheating under the influence. it will hurt just as bad for the woman if he is drunk or not

Negative. I think an underlying desire to cheat has to be in place (from my experiences and watching my friends in town). I have been in some right messes, when I don't remember a thing, and my friends have told me it has been there on a plate and I still have not cheated. However if somebody is REALLY drunk, they may not have to do much to be an active participant, but here is when there is grey area, and the terms rape or sexual assault may be applied. Perhaps a person should not get that drunk in the first place, but this is easier said than done eh?

No excuse, and it would not stand up in a court. Drinking to the point of "cheating "is both immoral and irresponsible, just like drunk driving or commiting other crimes while under the influence is. All who play must pay,one way or the other. If we have a conscience, it all comes back to bite us in the end.

Seems to me that the other person CHOSE to get drunk in the first place, so how can that be used as an excuse to cheat? Two wrongs don't equal a right (or as you put it, a "forgivable mistake").

Personally, I think we are all responsible for what we do when we are under the influence. After all, we have the option of whether to drink in the first place. If someone goes out and drives while drunk and kills a little kid, do you think they should just get off because they were drunk? That's an extreme example, but my point is the same. Everything we do, we do because of our own free will. Being drunk isn't an excuse.

I don't believe there are any excuses when it comes to cheating. I mean you cheat because you want to cheat, not because you were drinking or felt lonely, or whatever hundreds of excuses people give for rationalizing their behavior. I mean the bottom line is you cheated, and although some people find that they can forgive, no one ever truely forgets.
