For me, I dont' catch much most of the time but I still do it anyways. Sometimes I just like to get away from what bugs me and be by myself.

Whats in it for you?

For me, it's the endless possibilities. I love to go deep-sea fishing or ocean fishing off the beach or pier. Who knows what could be lurking at the other end of the line? Also, I love the cameraderie of the fishing pier-- talking to the old fisherman who have seen it all and have a million stories to back it up. Fishing takes me to the sea, and I can never be upset or depressed while the waves are lapping and the smell of the sea air wafts over me.

I just plain love to fish in general, but if I had to have a reason, it's my way to get away from everything. Stress of the office, people calling me at home on Sunday about business stuff, bills, maintenance on the house, and on and on. There's nothing more relaxing than getting out where there's no cell signal, no bills, no honey-do's, and it's just you and mother nature. The way it was long ago, before we all turned into workaholic robots.

I remember seeing an ad in an outdoor magazine that read "For the rich there's therapy, for the rest of us there's bass". That about sums it up, except for me it's trout.
