Basically, it's saying:
"Don't worry; God's in charge."
Of course, that's an oversimplification, but it you had to condense it to a few words, that would do it.

Let nothing disturb thee; Let nothing dismay thee; All thing pass; God never changes. Patience attains All that it strives for. He who has God Finds he lacks nothing:God alone suffices.” - St. Teresa of Avila
Basically - Don't let anything worry or scare you. God never changes, even though all things fade. Patience achieves everything it tries for. If you have God, you are not lacking anything! God alone is enough to sustain you.
This is a great quote. It helped me just thinking about a different way to say it! Have a great day!

"Let nothing disturb thee..."
Don't let anyone change your course to the wrong direction. Don't let things bother you which are unimportant.
"...Let nothing dismay thee..."
Don't get sad when you make a mistake or fail temprarily. Never give up.
"...All things pass..."
Everything which is unhappy or saddening will come to an end eventually.
"...God never changes..."
[Pretty simple, right?] :o)
"...Patience attains all that it strives for..."
If you keep at something, you will eventually achieve it. Never give up.
"..He who has God finds he lacks nothing..."
Through God, all things are possible that matter and are good. The things of this world are unimportant in the eternal scheme of things.
"...God alone suffices."
A repetition of what is stated above - if we trust our Father in Heaven we need not worry about any want or need.
That's the best I can do. It isn't perfect but seems right to me.

Whoever believes in God is not found lacking. He will support you, so don't let things bother you, or disturb you...all things will come to pass in God's consistency.
I don't know though, St. Teresa was pretty straight forward there..

It's plain enough and understandable. Very uplifting, as you say. But it obviously was written by somebody who didn't need to worry about buying groceries or making the mortgage payment on time. Must be nice.

It's saying "Don't worry... be happy" ...deep huh.
I have a fish that sings that song, and the person who wrote the song committed suicide so how's that for pure irony.
