Race can honestly have a lot to do with it. Unfortunately, it's a misunderstood concept.
Many different things such as religion, customs, traditions, and general atmosphere make up a person.... and they all revolve around someone's race.
I'm from eastern Europe, and very involved in my culture. It would be very difficult to be in a loving relationship with someone who didn't respect and even share the same feelings for those customs... which is why it would be hard for me to be with someone of "westarn" culture.
If you're going to spend your whole life with someone, you better be completely comfortable in their surroundings. This is why race is important. As long as there's a mutual understanding of what each person stands for, and you see no potential conflict, of course it doesn't matter. But it's ALWAYS something to consider.

However, no person, under any circumstance, should be put down because of their race. It's just common sense that if there are many opposing views in a romantic relationship, you're just asking for problems down the road.

I think I tend to be attracted more to my own race than others but I would still definately consider dating someone of another race if they had the qualities I was looking for.

You shouldn't let prejudice decide anything for you. Use your noggin, get under their skin and learn something about people.

Don't be afraid to bring up the issue of race either. Society is far too sensetive when it comes to talking about race. It's like every time someone even mentions the word "race" people start grouping them as a racist. I find that pretty ignorant in itself. We need to be able to acknoledge and celebrate our diffferences, otherwise we're simply sweeping dirt under the rug by holding our tongues.

How can we ever hope to face and issue if everyone's going to worry about being politically correct, or as I like to say, politically confused.

When I was younger and my families opinion mattered it had a lot to do with who I dated, because my family didn't believe in interracianal dating, however once I moved out, it no longer plays a part at all. In fact my fiance now is a hatian man whom I love very much and I am also raising my son who is mixed.

I've personally never dated outside of my race, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Just depends on the individual person and if you really care about someone it does not matter what color their skin color is. I believe you just have to look within that person.

If you some one who does not look at the out side as much as you do what the person is like on the inside than it does not mean a lot.

It never mattered for me, when I was single. I am attracted to people of many races and I do not think dating outside your race or ethnicity matters if you find that person attractive.

I think race has nothing to do with a relationship. I am white and my husband is black. Race should not matter in anything. It's how you feel that matters.

Not a whole lot, if I like the person for who they are, and also find them attractive id date someone of any race.

Race is like anything else in a relationship. it is just different from yours.
You can also have different tastes in music, lifestyle, food, clothing, sport teams, religion, states, towns, incomes,... etc, etc
That is why we date, to get to know the person, to see if their differences work with yours, do they compliment each other or clash. you can date a person with a different race, but does their other lifestyles fit with yours???

It usually isnt so much about race as it is with Culture. To some extent they feed off each other.
