You should stop sleeping in history class. Can you name one Marxist-Leninist state (communist) country that actally succeeded and formed a government and society that adheres to all of the tenets of communism. The correct answer is none. See how well it's working out in North Korea? What about China? Does everybody over there live equally, on an equal standard of living? Oooh, oooh, what about Russia, no, no, wait, it failed completely there too, and they just gave up on it.
Communism is a great idea on paper, the only thing that screws it up is people. Unfortunately you need people to have it, and as long as you have people involved, you have a loser.

You obviously are mixing up the Marxist dream of Communism, which never functioned for the Stalinist Dictatorship of Communism.
All you have to do is look at the suffering of the working classes in any of the communist states.
Where did they all have there own plot of land?
One of the first things Stalin did was to kill of the farming communities who had little time for his stupid ideas, Stalin was also responsible for the famine that killed hundreds of thousands in the Ukraine.
The new elite in these countries was the Communist Party *** lickers, who got all the perks and the best apartments and the big holiday houses, all on the backs of the poor working classes.
If the Communist dream was so perfect then how come so many people were employed in controlling by terror their own people, and don't for get the gulags and Siberian prison camps.
Its ignorant little people like you who praise a dictatorship that you never had to live under, take of the rose tinted glasses and learn about the real world.
Fascism is the extreme right and Communism is the extreme left, they are like Mirror images, only the uniforms and the insignia is different, but the mentality of a small minority will control by fear and terror the majority.

If you read the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx basically defined Communism as how you describe it. He also described Capitalism as the Government oppressing the poor. When he was alive, it was that way to an extent. Where he was right was that he said a government will change to accommodate the poor. Most people took this mean it had to be a war or terroristic violence. Where he was mistaken was that even though the U.S. did not have laws to protect the poor, such as child labor laws, rape shield laws, equal rights, and corporate white collar criminal acts, now we do (evolution of government) and it only took one civil war and lots of protests. In reality, communist countries hold dear all that Marx hated, and the Capitalist countries strive to make life better for all the citizens. I don't see anybody illegally immigrating to any communists countries because they feel that the grass is greener.

First of all, I think you have the right intentions....However, your results will be amiss and there will be continuous frustrations on your behalf if you walk this road.
With this being said communism is a failed society, not to say democracy and capitalsim will last forever, but certainly much longer than communism. It is a failed society due to economics and the science illustrates this from facts. Communism is able to pay for guns or butter, but in capitalism (a continuous circular cycle of economy) guns produce butter and butter produces guns.
I would not think to say communism is nazism. Nazism is national socialism or better said fascism a step up from communism economically speaking.
As for your beliefs you will receive harsh criticism, as others do as well...especially over communism and the utopia it presents in a deceitful lie. There will never be equals on this earth in continuous socio-political norm...even in the USSR in it's day of glory...people stood in lines for bread, while the military production rate skyrocketed. But, the beurocrats stood wealthy in their treasury.
Philosophically, communism doctrine communicates there is no God, nor is their hope, nor faith,...nothing of meaning or of peace. Without God there is nothing. However, I believe that you will find this if you remain open to the truth.
There is a balance,...no Laisez Faire did not work either, there must be some social framework for a prosperous society to exist: Examples: Fire Departments, Militaries, Federal Treasuries etc., but the more government and beaurocracy in a society will create more hardships and less freedoms.
For the poverty stricken and the underpriveldged there is no excuse in America,...for there are so many resources available to help those in need. But, riches only come three ways: Inheritance, Luck and/or HARD WORK. Remember, Attitude is 90% of life,...and for a starting point I recommend you find a vision for yourself who you are and what it is that you wish to do and be thankful inside.
If you have a chance look at this website, it may change your life forever and the way you are able to see things...for we are men full of valuable potential, the power of your mind is limitless and the possibilities for opportunity is only limited to your vast imagination...We just have to tap in... http://www.thesecret.tv/

Communism attempts have failed so far because the people managing the aspects of the government in those countries treated their responsibilities as a power grab rather than a dull job used to regulate what are successful standards. Because of that prices were not changed to reflect real life as they needed to be.
Communism takes a huge amount of information exchange that no government on earth has managed as of yet. The technology necessary is possible today, but still bulky to manage such things. I don't think it is time yet for that type of government. We need technology to improve a few more generations before a government can be turned from a political power into a mundane general supply staff. Things take too long and get lost too easily still.

People get mad with you because you are using your freedom of expression and they don't agree with your opinions. So they use their freedom of expression to dump on you.
They some how have the idea that they are free.
The most common cliches about the Soviet system of communism;gulags, salt mines, purges and summary executions are more properly aimed at the communist party under the leadership of Josef Stalin. As popularized by Joe McCarthy in the early 50's. Who of course led a major purge.
Some one here has commented about thought police and ratting on their neighbors to the KGB or whomever.
That sounds a lot like be vigilant and protect the Homeland to me.
By the way the Soviets had the Committee for State Security - initials KGB
Patrick - Capitalism and democracy in the same sentence??

Mostly because Communism was once everything that Americans desired to abolish, destroy, and basically prevail over. Between the 1960's and 1980's (Cold War and Communist USSR) there was a lot of tension between the the ideas of Tyranny and Democracy, and Communism and Capitalism.
Now it is not so bad, and communism is more just a "form" of government rather than a idealistic enemy. However it is still against all that is American.

People in America dont like commies because communism doesnt allow you to better yourself. Sure everyone would be equal but like it's been seen in the Soviet Union, the government can manipulate it. In America the whole way of life is based on becoming whatever you want to be, getting what you want to get through hard work. With communism you cant move any farther up the ladder.

Capitalism-The unequal distribution of wealth.
Communism-The equal distribution of poverty.
If you are just trying to see how mad you can get people here you need help. If you are serious you need much more help.
I know many that risked their lives to escape The Soviet Union (3), Hungary (1), VietNam (14). The youngest was 12 when she took off from Trah Vihn Province by herself and managed to walk thru Cambodia to Thailand. Her uncle managed to hide for 3 years after escaping from re-education prison before his wife would take the kids on the same trip to Thailand.
Then there are those of us that just saw the East German Border/West German Border or the divide between the 2 Korea's
Both are going to be tough crowds to convince. Helen, she is 55, would just beat you with something heavy. I have had to drag her away from a person from N. VietNam twice. There is an accent difference they can detect.
You are free to be as smart or as not so smart as you choose.

People are educated under a very suspicious system. I had to educate myself between the differences with all those political ideologies.
School, I learned, can be very biased. People get mad because they are taught that communism is bad without details, just like everything else that modern day America thinks is bad.
People would also get mad b/c communism doesn't go along the lines of capitalism and people may become threatened when they hear that you're supportive of it. I don't think it's evil,
I just think the people who practiced the ideology were/are definitely evil. It's just different and contradicts what we "believe" in.
