Or will you not vote for him because he's a mormon?

Do you consider mormonism a sect of christianity?

I'm not a Christian, but Romney will certainly not be getting my vote. He's flip-flopped on just about every major issue except for the war.

Mormonism is a sect of Christianity whether they agree to it or not.

Probably not - not sure the guy can be trusted to represent
...but it depends on the competition.

I don't often take religious preference into considerationwhen voting. I usually don't know the religion of a candidate and think it's odd that Romney's is playing such a huge part.

I am lds (which many think of as mormon), and definately do consider it to be a sect of christianity. Christianity defined is a religious group based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Anyone who truly knows the lds religion knows that it is that...whether you agree with it or not. It is one interpretation of many - one path.

I haven't decided who I will vote for yet.

Voting against someone solely because of that person's religious beliefs is somewhat narrow-minded and it goes against everything that America supposedly stands for.

Remember "We hold these truths to be self-evident that ALL men are created equal"? There's nothing about "We hold these truths to be self-evident that ALL men are created equal---except Mormons"

And yes, I definitely consider "Mormonism" is a sect of Christianity. The faith is centered around Jesus Christ as the Savior and the Son of God.

It's sad that some people won't get a fair chance because of what their religious beliefs are. That's not what America is about.

First of all Mormonism is not the NAME of the faith...the name of the faith is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and only is renowned as mormons due to our Book of Mormon.

That is not why I would or would vote for him. ..if someone is that naive...they are the same ones who only cheered or supported mormon athletes or mormon rock bands..

I would vote for Mitt Romney, my guess is that the democrats and catholics of massachusetts and Ted Kennedy liked him enough and that would at LEAST give me what I need to research his platform and his stand on issues...if I still like him and he gets through the primary...then we'll see...NOTHING matters if Giuliani beats him in the primary...

I accept every candidate based upon merit and my decision is based upon the issues that I agree and disagree with.

My top Republican right now is Romney and my Democrat is Obama...

any faith that holds Christ as the cornerstone of their religion is Christian. Jehovah's Witness does NOT do that. Jehovah to them is not Christ, but God and Christ in their faith doesn't even die on a cross. So that, to me is sufficient to take them out of the running as far as Christianity is concerned.

Yes I would vote for Gov. Romney, and not because he is a Mormon.
Mitt Romney has great track record, a great mind and thinker.
Readers Digest's ( 3-4 issues ago) gave a article on his accomplishments, go read it.
We need an intelligent person for U.S. President

Harry Reid is a Mormon too, I never like him.

Mormonism is not in any way a cult. The correct name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "Mormons" or Latter Day Saints (latter-day referring to those who belong to His church in these days as opposed to during the days when He was upon the earth and leading His church Himself) believe in Jesus Christ, follow Him, testify of Him, teach of Him and try to do His will and His work. "Mormons" are in every way Christians. I am a 35 year long member of the "Mormon" church and consider myself a Christian. I love, honor, worship and revere Jesus Christ as my Savior, as do the other members of the LDS faith. I dont want to open the door to any Mormon Bashing (that is not my purpose here) but I feel that I should clarify that before I say that I dont think I will vote for Mitt Romney, soley because of his stance on the war (I am vehemently opposed to it). I think he is a good man, a moral man, but I disagree with him on this one issue and its enough for me not to vote for him.

I do consider Mormons outside Christianity. But ultimately, the office of president of the United States is a govt office, not a church one. I would vote for him since he upholds the same moral values I do and isnt hopefully going to raise taxes through the roof.

Yes I will vote for him. And Mormons do indeed believe in Christ and are therefore "Christian." Ther official name of the Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Mormonism is a cult and not Christian.

I probably won't vote, but if I did, it wouldn't be for flip flop Romney.
