There's a best time to buy golf clubs? My rule is if you want it, buy it.

2 ways to go on this. Most pro shops will clearance their stock toward the end of golf season to get ready for new merchandise for the next season. After Xmas is the next best time. The other way to go is to get clone/knock-off clubs. They are always on sale. A site like www.genericclubs.com sell clone clubs at about 1/3 the cost of OEM clubs.

The Ben Sayers equipment was once the very best in the world starting when old Ben and then his son young Ben made the clubs themselves by hand. Eventually they had a nice factory in North Berwick and continued to build the best and ship them all over the world. But from what I understand the family has pretty much died out, the company sold off and the clubs are all made in the orient so all that remains from the originals is the name. Have not seen them for sale in the US, but it is a company with a long history and tradition in the game.

January--after Christmas sales is the best time I was told.

2 reaasons:

1.) After Christmas sales are huge
2.) Previous year-end models go on sale, so you can get last year's models for a lot less

I would assume the best time to buy is after the season. You might get lucky at the beginning of the season with trade ins and used clubs. I just bought a Callaway Driver for $110.00. Check out this website it is fantastic. You can get great clubs for cheap and they are certified by Callaway.

Buying them in the beginning of spring gives you until november to use them, plus it gives you time to break them in, so by summer you will be used to them.
