God is the author of the Bible it is the word of God.

The Bible isn't a book, but it is a collection of many historical documents, letters and articles from the 1st century compiled together.
If Jesus wrote the entire thing, do you really think people would believe him, don't you think it would be too biased for people to trust Him. His people wrote them and for others to spread the word and through them we know about God even 2,000 years later.

basically He did. He inspired the writers of the Bible and they wrote whatever God told them to.

Life would be too easy and people would go to heaven that haven't been adequately tested.
The purpose of life is find out exactly what we are made of. If we are worthy enough to return to God depends on if will be able to abide his glory. Most of us are impure and would spontaneously combust in his presence.
I'm trying to live my life that one day I can reach the point where I can be counted worthy. I know I have a long way to go.

Men inspired by God wrote it. That is why there are some contradictions. Different people had different points of view, the same as they do now.

He was the general so he gave it to his chain of commands I think there were 12 that wrote all the scrolls that became the book known as the bIBLE.
