The reason I'm asking this, is I have heard a few black radio hosts here in my city make "white" jokes and everyone laughs at it, and accepts it as humor. But if one of our White or Latino radio host's said the same joke, but changed the races around to where it was a "black" joke, then the radio station would be slapped with a racism lawsuit.

Please explain to me, why is it acceptable for one group to do something, but not for another?

I wish i could remember some exact jokes, but i do notice that they say "You know only white people do this" or "she/he must have been white". I personally think that this is rude, but if one group isn't held accountable for it, then neither should the other group.

Yes, double standards suck. Why is everyone so sensitive about everything these days anyway? Race, religion, lack of religion... any opportunity to be offended by something! If we all took ourselves a little less seriously, we'd be a much happier society.

It's not really acceptable for anyone to make racist jokes, however, radio DJ's do get away with certain things as a compliment to "free speech". What the real question should be is "Why does everyone get so offended if it is only a joke?" One of the radio stations I listen to has a morning jockey who makes comments and remarks equally, stating that he is not racist and that he is not talking about the entire race as a whole, merely specific people &/or instances. He does not apologize if someone gets offended or upset, which I think is perfectly justified. Freedom of speech is allowed for everyone who is an american citizen. In my opinion, you have to be american first to enjoy this right, and you should enjoy this right in the same manner as everyone else. This country stands on the ideals of equality. I think everyone should adopt the phrase "I'm not racist, I dislike everyone equally!"

It's is a double standard and is unfair. But I think it really is just that whites don't really get that offended, and don't make that much of a fuss about it. Personally, when I hear black comedians and such joke about white people, I usually think it is hilarious cause I can relate to it sometimes. It is just that black people are overly sensitive sometimes, and it doesn't help to have people like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson sound the alarm everytime something slightly racist is said or done.

that's funny cuz i work in radio infact i work for an urban market it i listen to Rev al, 2 stews, and tom joyner and other syndicated and local urban jocks!
I haven't heard any jokes going to white people now i have heard white peeps make jokes and not get into trouble.
considering i have been in black radio for 2 years now you would think i would of heard something.
I'm white and most of the blacks are more loyal and more trustworthy then most whites how is that for a racest comment! but it's true study the lifestyle of urban peeps and tell me what you gather i'm around it daily now! even though i dn't have many black friends i spend most of my time with them

and something like you posted is unacceptable but i see more whites slandering the blacks in a joking manner then i have seen blacks doing! I'm sure it happends on one station they have the white word of the day! but that's our competition!
maybe it's because i live in detroit! ummm!!
i just wish all races would drop the race BS

The great American double standard. Minorities and lawmakers tend to not see "white" as a race even though it is. That makes them feel it is ok and acceptable to make "white devil" jokes. I propose we start a television station called White Entertainment Television (WET) to act as a sort of counter-balance to Black Entertainment Television (BET).

its a huge double standard i guess bc white people don't have al sharpton running around calling everyone racists, white people can take a joke and not view it as racist where as al sharpton apparently percieves himself to be the speaker on behalf of all black peopel and thinks all black peopel are offended by a harmless joke.
