Happens to me all the time! But since I live pretty close to where I work, I just make a quick trip home during lunch and put the packages of chicken in the sink with some nice hot water. It takes about three or four hours for about 4 lbs of chicken breasts to defrost completely. Otherwise, use the defrost mode on your microwave. The only issue with this method is that you'll end up with slightly cooked chicken.

Yes thaw them under cold running water, until they are defrosted. You can thaw them this way if they are in a block or if they are individually packaged. it uses a bit of water but they wont partially cook like they do in the microwave and they thaw much faster than just leaving them out. expect 20-30 min if they are individually frozen and an hour to an hour and a half if they are in a big block place them in their package in a large container so they will be surrounded by water as well as having water running over them. you can defrost them directly in cold water without a package as long as it's ok if they absorb some of the water , because they will hope this helps

try a defrost setting on microwave, or put chicken wrapped into a bowl of cold water and change water every 15 mins for an hour. If thawing a turkey it takes about 5hours.

I heard you should put in in a microwave for about 5-10 minutes. That should thaw it out somewhat.

Yes! Microwave them for 10 - 15 minutes. Or until it looks defrosted.

If they are boneless, but frozen together, run them under warm tap water and pry them gently apart. If they are bone in you can submerge them in warm tap water til you can separate them, then use your microwave on the defrost setting or the lowest power setting. Depending on how you were planning to cook them, you could also drop them in boiling water for a few minutes. Good luck

ok-you know what I do, I actually leave them on the counter for about 5 hours-they do get cooked so pashaw to the diseases-
the other way is to put them in a bowl of cool water and leave them out for around the same time-changing the water in half hour intervals but I prefer the above.
Of course, the nuker works too!

Defrost in the Microwave? Cut them in small pieces (if that's okay) and put them in a air tight container in some warm (not hot) water. Change water frequently...
ps. container in water
