Well for the record I'm Military too.

And for the Record It's 3,699, five more died in a helicopter crash today.

And for the record we have killed over 60,000 terrorists in this war. That is 60,000 less people to worry about in the world rite now.

So, to answer the question, I'm damn proud of what we've accomplished.

4,000 Deaths U.S. - 60,000 Deaths Terrorists.

Thats a 15:1 kill ratio.

Damn fine job.

Gore as POTUS in 2000 with huge city vote and eight? of fifty states could have desperate that 9/11 became a lawyer deal and accomplished little or no longer something. we would nevertheless be shot at different than with costly chinese language/North Korean missles that sometimes HIT. we does not be landmining each and all of the borders as that may prevail and Al Qaeda could be forced to apply the checkpoints that are OPEN for NO obvious reason right into a conflict ZONE the place kinfolk have not got any agency attending funerals from Syria, grabbing a gun and murdering somebody. No death from above to maintain fleers in or out. comparable element.

Well it sure is good to know that good ole' Washington is giving our guys good enough equipment to surive over there...3,694 is not such a bad number for the length of the war. I plan on joining the Army in the next three years when I am finished with High School, I can only hope that I can be as lucky.

I have very mixed emotions about it. I feel sad for the men and women who have given ALL for Our Freedoms and Our way of life. I think back to Nam,Korea,WW11 and the rest and know there are times when we must face Our enemies.
The war on Terror is about Our very existence,Our way of life is at hand. Not only in Iraq or Afghanistan, they are here in Our own country and I know we will one day face them in Our malls, grocery stores, football games etc. The whole situation is bad.
If we leave Iraq now the price the Iraqis will pay will be terrible and then we will know~

I think it's great that we can engage in this 4 year war, with such minimal loss of our soldier's lives. Think of it compared to WW2 which didn't last as long, but where we lost 83 times more soldiers.

You have to wonder if today's politicians and media and peaceniks had been around in WW2, would the USA ever have had the strength and will to fight, or would we withdraw because of the horrific losses.

Sad. Even sadder when I realize the 9,555 who died on active duty between 1980 and 1984 got scant mention in the national media. But, there was no reason in peacetime to turn their mortal remains into political footballs.

Numbers don't generally have a lot of emotional impact. 3700 Americans died in Iraq. 54,000 in Vietnam. 34,000 in Korea. 131,000 in WWII. 4,400 in the Phillippines. 970,000 in the Civil War. 2.2 million on the American Highway system since it's inception in 1957.

They're just numbers.

Death under any circumstances is sad, especially the death of those who bravely gave their lives for their country. I thank God that there are those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for our nation. I also thank God that there are not so many as died daily during WWI, WWII, Korea or Viet Nam. During those wars a thousand or more likely more died daily. God bless our troops and may He see them home safely and soon.

It's called sacrifice, respect the people who went to war voluntarily. The media cares more about pet food recalls and cares LESS about death of human life. What does that tell you? The media doesn't care about crying ON AIR for the lives we have lost. The media is NOT patriotic and have no heart toward humans. Every war has death counts. I don't get your point.
