Yes. Yes, you've missed understanding the Word of God, the Holy Bible.
More important than that is that you have missed eternal life.
Don't worry about Christianity. Try understanding who your Creator is and why He died on a cross for you. Pick up the Word of God and read it for yourself.
When you starts seeing major signs in the heavens - Read the Bible and you will learn what you are seeing. The heavens declare the glory of God.
