i like third Day, and 5 Iron Frenzy, and Jars of Clay. additionally i'm no longer a Christian. yet I won't draw back track in accordance with what it says. I additionally do no longer believe killing myself and certainly everyone else, yet I nevertheless pay attention to 9 Inch Nails. ETA: the will arises to swap "rock without religious overtones", because of the fact by employing my definition, 9 Inch Nails has religious overtones--whether that is in simple terms speaking approximately God being ineffective.

POD's not bad. if you like heavier stuff, i would argue that certain songs by soulfly contain extremely christian undertones (max cavalera talks about the ''conquering Lion, something something, i must reach the mountians of zion..."). they're about as heavy as a band can get and still sound good. generally, the best christian bands are the ones that you don't really realize they're christian unless YOU'RE christian, and you really listen closely to the lyrics. they're usually pretty subtle so they can still sell records. listen to POD's ''alive'' sometime with the ''born again'' experience in mind.

I think b/c if they were good they would be a rock band...and not have to just be a "christian band". Same as at work you are a good financial analyst--you don't throw in there Christian financial analyst b/c that is completely irrelevent to what you want to be (aka a band)
The more you narrow your search, the more results are omitted. =) If you want more results, please broaden your search terms. If they put more emphasis on being a good musician instead of merely being christian with an instrument, they might be able to make good music

Because to them the message counts for more than the music. In other words they cannot inject any genuine passion into their songs as they do not draw from their own experiences to create them.

They don't suck. They're awesome. I think their music is beautiful. And they're not really focusing more on "the music" than they are on the "message in the music". The reason you don't like it is because you can't identify with what they're talking about. They're not playing to "entertain" you. They're playing to minister to people's spirits and help save souls. They're not seeking your approval. So I really don't think they care whether you think they suck or not.

Because their too obsessed with "spreading the word" and marketing their religion to young children. They rely on subliminal messages and propaganda to get the fundamentalist agenda going.

It's just poor quality music. The secular rock is far superior.
