Christmas my husband wrapped a present for me left it under the tree. It was flat and square I thought it was an item of clothing told my friend. Christmas morning arrived my present was a high Visibility over jacket, to be seen in the dark. Not high on my wanted list

One Valentine's Day my husband said something like "Oh, today is Valentine's Day isn't it?" I then informed him that it indeed was Valentine's Day. He had forgotten and I really didn't care. Later that night he went to the corner store to get some milk or something and came back and handed me a pack of Cinnamon Big Red chewing gum and he goes "At least its red." Why even bother?

I have warned my husband to never give me anything for the house cause it is not personal. that includes yellow gold cause I don't like it. But one time I was coming home from work and he called me to tell me that he had bought something I was gonna like. It wasn't my b-day or any special occasion. I was really excited cause he'll never by anything for me unless it's a b-day, x-mas or valentines day. I came into the house and to my surprise it was a new 13 gallon stainless steel trash can. It was nice and I just said thank you....

The second Valentine's Day that my husband and I were together he gave me a coffee maker. At the time I didn't drink coffee. He said he had overheard me saying that I needed one. What he overheard was me saying to a friend that I needed coffee because I had been up all night with the baby. I couldn't get upset with him. His heart was in the right place:)

He gave me a hydraulic jack for Christmas. Actually, I used to be dismayed (envisioning future gifts of home appliances or car tools), but I now feel it was very romantic. He knew I'd experienced frustration with changing my tires in the past and wanted to help me feel safe.

Don't know if i can top some of your other answers, but I'll have a go, anyway. One birthday, my wife gave me two presents - a book on etiquette, and a bath scourer.

My husband has never done anything unromantic. He remembers every important date and goes out of his way to get me something special that will appeal to me. (Like a book, music box or piece of jewelry.) Sometimes, on the way home, he'll stop to pick me wildflowers. However, before I met this treasure of a man, I had one boyfriend before him that did enough unromantic things to last me a lifetime.
Let's see...for a Christmas gift, he gave me one of his broken keychains. One time, when we were kissing, he pushed me away, grabbed the TV remote and said, "Shut up. Missing Star Trek. Go buy Pepsi and Doritos." (He didn't even offer me any money to go buy them. I had to use mine and I don't even like those things!) His way of saying goodbye to me was, "I'm leaving." Half the time, I expected him to grunt instead of speak.

Last Christmas my boyfriend gave me an electric toothbrush... and proceeded to tell me he got it half price.
The year before he bought me a men's magnetic anti-arthritis bracelet... with the price still on the box. I don't even have arthritis!!!
