Isn't that a failure of the imagination? What do we mean when we say we are made in God's image? Do we imagine that God has nostrils and breathes? If so, what does he breathe? Air? Where is the air? Air with oxygen in it? No other planet in the solar system has oxygen except the Earth. Why restrict God to a few places? Why would he need nostrils? What about a navel? Would God have a navel? What about hair? What about a vermiform appendix? What about toes?

The Bible says God is Spirit. So we have the spirit of God.

The Bible says "Christ was slain from the foundation of the world." So Jesus was around when God created and Jesus has a body.

When God breathed into the nostrils of Adam he became a living soul. The Bible also says that there is life in the blood.

God the Son has a body so therefore He has an image.

having the “image” or “likeness” of God means, in the simplest terms, that we were made to resemble God. adam did not resemble God in the sense of God’s having flesh and blood. scripture says that “God is a spirit” and therefore exists without a body. however, adam’s body did mirror the life of God, insofar as it was created in perfect health and was not subject to death.

part of being made in God’s image means that adam had the capacity to make free choices. although he was given a righteous nature, adam made an evil choice to rebel against his maker. in so doing, adam marred the image of God within himself, and he passed that damaged likeness on to all his children, including us. today, we still bear the image of God,but we also bear the scars of sin. mentally, morally, socially, and physically, we show the effects

If you read the Bible where it refers to a man being created in the image of God it is very clear what this image of God refers to.
Gen chapter one says
God says let US create man in OUR image.
Gen chapter two demonstrates how man is created in the image of God above the animals.
God creates man form the dust (flesh)
God breathes in life (spirit)
Man becomes a living soul (soul)
Man's creation is above the animals and in the image of God because man is given an eternal spirit.
m
Man is flesh, spirit and soul ONE man.
God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit ONE God.

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have glorified bodies. Jesus ate and drank with the apostles after the resurrection. I assume that He can still exist in any atmosphere.

I would think they are talking about energy here. you are taking it too literally. looking for a reason to not believe, if you don't believe, just admit it rather than try to find flaws with the system. there are plenty of flaws, you are wasting your time.
