I really haven't learned anything about bikes.
For instance how to put a bike together and the fixed gears and what not.
I'm looking for a 10 speed bike. If thats what their called.
But I also heard I could make it myself by getting the parts.

If your a big bike expert, please help and explain to me.
Thanks so much.

As you are a novice, I would not recommend you to try and build a bike from scratch!

Buy a reasonably inexpensive bike and upgrade it as you go, you will learn bundles by doing that and avoid costly mistakes.

When you are a little more experienced then try a bike from scratch, you will have gained a lot more knowledge by then.

Hope I've helped you mate?

Get an idea how much you can spend, then visit a big bike shop and test ride a few. Do ride some that are over your price range so you can see what the difference is and whether it's worth it for you. Also keep in mind that used bikes depreciate even more than used cars, so you can get a lightly used 2-5 year old model for less than half a new one, and it rides just as fast.

Come back with more questions.

I agree with Mr G.

Your other option is to buy a second hand machine from e-bay and then spend some money repairing/replacing worn parts.

If you have this many questions. Go to a bike store. Wal-Mart is not a bike store.
