I have just about anything to add to it, or go along with it.. If it were you what would you want for dinner?

Here are some suggestions.

I tried this recipe tonite for the first time. It was good and very moist. Next time I may add Italian Seasoning to it.
CLAIRE'S MEATLOAF
1/2 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
1 pound hamburger
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. water
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix Grape Nuts and water; let stand for 2-3 minutes. Combine rest of ingredients; mix well. In a greased pan, shape into loaf. Bake one hour at 350'. To get moist loaf, cover with aluminum foil for first 30 minutes and then remove.

Cheeseburger Macaroni
1 pound of hamburger
1/4 c. chopped onion (optional)
1/3 c. ketchup
1 1/2 c. water
1 pkg Velveeta Shells and Cheese Dinner
1. Brown hamburger with onion (optional) in large skillet; drain
2. Place hamburger in skillet, stir in 1 1/2 c. water, ketchup, and shell macaroni.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low; cover. Simmer 10-12 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
3. Add velveeta cheese sauce; stir until melted.

Hamburger Pie
1# ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
2- 16oz cut green beans, drained
1- 10 3/4 oz condensed tomato soup
1/4c. of water
salt and pepper to taste
3-4 med potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 beaten egg
milk
1/2 c. shredded chedder cheese
Cook hamburger and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender; drain off grease.
Stir in beans, soup, water and season with salt and pepper.
Place mixture in a pan.
Cook potatoes in salted boiling water about 20 min or until tender; drain. mash while hot; stir in egg. Add enough milk to make potatoes fluffy, yet stiff enough to hold their shape. Season with salt and pepper.
spread potatoes on top of meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
makes 4-6 servings (Can use instant potatoes. Make according to package but omit the butter. Remember: NO BUTTER to the mashed potatoes)

Simple Shepherd's Pie
1# hamburger
chopped onion (optional)
cream of celery
1/4 c. milk
1/2 stick melted butter
16 oz. bag of mixed vegetables
3-4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 beaten egg
milk for mashed potatoes
(Can use instant potatoes. Make according to package but omit the butter. Remember: NO BUTTER to the mashed potatoes)
Cheddar cheese
Cook hamburger and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender; drain off grease.
Stir in vegetables, soup, 1/4 c. milk, melted butter and season with salt and pepper.
Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.
makes 4-6 servings
If you want to shorten the recipe to about 25-30 minutes, then cook your mixed vegetables and then add to hamburger mixture.
You can substitute cream of mushroom for the cream of celery. But the cream of celery compliments the mixed vegetables.

My family loves a real easy dish called "Lion Burger." It does not have anything to do with the King of the Jungle, it is a recipe that the local Lions Club serves at fairs and town carnivals. It's a one pan dish, so I try to use a good size frying pan, or a wok will also work.

Brown the burger slowly, so it does not dry out, as it is cooking you can add salt and pepper, garlic, hot pepper flakes and a few spoonfuls of ketchup, BBQ sauce and mustard. You are going to want to keep the mixture moist as you can serve it on pasta, or rice or even on hamburger buns/rolls. You can add a bit of olive oil or cooking oil of your choice if the burger is very low fat.

Chop up a couple of onions, a green and red bell pepper, and some fresh or canned (drained) mushrooms.

If you don't have these veggies on hand, you can substitute veggies of your choice. (either fresh or frozen)

Remove the cooked hamburger from the pan and set aside in a bowl to drain off some grease. (if any)

Put veggies into the pan/wok and saute until they are slightly soft and releasing some of their juices into the pan. Return the browned hamburger to the pan and mix everything together.

You can add whatever spices you and your family prefer and adjust accordingly. If you are having a few extra guests at the table, you can add some cooked pasta to the mixture and it is basically a homemade hamburger helper without all the additives and preservatives.

When it is garden season, I will also add a couple of fresh chopped tomatoes to the mixture when I add the burger back it and it really changes the flavor and brightens up the taste of the dish. A small amount of tomato sauce, either homemade or canned and some basil can change it into Lionberger Italiano....(this is instead of the ketchup, BBQ sauce and mustard)

This can be easily made into a casserole in the winter time by layering it with mashed potatoes, or cooked macaroni and some cheese into a baking dish and browned in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes.

Served like this with a salad on the side, it's a complete and easy meal in about 40 minutes.

Happy cooking.....

Tex-Mex Burritos
Fry up the hamburger, drain, add a large can of Ranch Style beans and let that simmer for about 5 minutes. Take flour tortillas, add 3 tablespoons(or more) of the meat/ bean mixture, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and salsa. You can also add sour cream, guacamole, onions etc..... Fold up one end and roll it up.
My family loves these....I have to make them at least once a week.

Sloppy-Joes

• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 2 cups mushrooms, chopped
• 5 tomatoes, diced
• 2 Tbls all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/4 cup cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup chili sauce (Heinz)
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 8 whole-wheat hamburger buns (toasted)

Crumble beef into a large nonstick skillet; cook over medium heat until it starts to sizzle, about 1 minute. Add onion and mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until the vegetables are soft and the moisture has evaporated, 8-10 minutes. Add tomatoes and flour; stir to combine. Stir in water, vinegar, chili sauce and ketchup and bring to a simmer, stirring often. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened and the onion is very tender, 8-10 minutes. Serve warm on buns.

My mom in law does this thing with beef and baked beans. Its really good.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 (15 ounce) cans baked beans with pork
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup barbeque sauce
1 cup biscuit baking mix
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium heat. When it is starting to brown, stir in the onion and season with pepper. Continue to cook and stir until beef is browned and the onion is tender.
Drain off the grease from the beef, and stir in the baked beans, Worcestershire sauce and 1 cup of barbeque sauce. Transfer to a large casserole dish. In a separate bowl, mix together the baking mix, milk and egg. Pour this mixture evenly over the beef and beans in the dish.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until the biscuit toping is golden brown. Spread a small amount of barbeque sauce over the top and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese while hot from the oven.
