Here's one tip for you. Someone's going to get hurt during a breakup. It's extremely rare for there to be good feelings all around. The best thing to do is be honest.

well hun no matter what you do the guy's gonna get hurt..i've dumped 3 boys in my life (im a freshmen in hs) andd i've done it all the normal ways. the first one was a note (6th grade no biggie deal) the second was over the phone(7th grade..he was really "heartbroken" as all his friends told me)
thenn in person (8th grade..it actually wasn't that hard!)

i'd suggest doing it in person...but i know thats kinda hard for ppl...the hardest part for me was asking him if i could talk to him cause he'd think it was just a talk and i would know it wasn't..sooo i had my friend go tell him to come over and talk to me and after that it all kinda flowed out. i told him that we dont really talk when we have problems and i just didn't wanna deal with it anymore. just be calm and trust me after its done you'll be relieved.
orr you could do the phone call..say the same thing, remember to thank him for everything hes done for you && that you're gonna miss him.
if you say something that one of these random ppl tell you to say it wont mean as much...we dont know him and we dont know you, just saying whatever comes to mind is what will truly not hurt him as much.

good luck sweetie!
