Over the past month and a half, I've noticed that i have been getting sore throats and earaches on and off, so i finally went to the doctor yesterday. He said my lymph nodes were swollen, the insides of my ears were swollen and fluid-filled, and the inside of my nose is red. He said its a virus, because the rapid strep test came up negative. I just find it weird that if its a little virus that its lasted over a month...is that normal. could it be mono? should i be worried? what happens if my ears dont drain? Could it be tonsil cancer?

Doubt tonsil cancer. Probably a mixture of allergies and a virus (also known as a common cold). You can take some pseudophed to dry out your ears. Hopefully it should be resolving soon. If not within a week go back to the doctor.
Good luck

My son (he started Kindergarten that time) had a strep throat, then an ear infection... or both at the same time for months... he was taking anti biotyics for what seemed forever, ... but thank God that's in the past now.
Yours is a virus, .... but you are an adult... your immune system should be stronger... maybe you should get a second opinion.
