Depending on where the numbness is and that really is not the answer. NO, do not eat while your mouth is numb. It would probably drool out of your mouth or you have the possiblity of choking, if you still are concerned, ask your dentist. He/she will probably give you the same answer. Particularly, if you have had extractions. It would not be a good idea for food to get into the sockets or the hole left. Wait until the numbness wears off, it should not take a really long time.

It doesn't sound like a cold sore, cold sores are a type of herpes and are usually on the lips or inside right by the lip. You may have strep throat or just a bad sore throat. see a doctor, if it is herpes he can prescribe you a drug called Valtrex. I have to take it when I have flare up's and it's the only thing that works. It usually will tame it in about a day and will heal completely in a week. as far a a numbing agent check with your local pharmacist and ask him for a recommendation (after all he's a pro).

1. Fluorides
Adequate intake of calcium, phosphorus, fluoride and vitamins A, C, and D are essential. Most of these are present in adequate amounts in the normal balanced diet. Only fluorides tends to be deficient and needs to be supplemented. Teeth containing fluoride are definitely more resistant to decay.

2. Carbohydrates:
There is a definite relationship between caries(tooth decay) and the intake of refined carbohydrates like flour, sugar, and other carbohydrates which have been treated in order to make them whiter, less fibrous and tastier. Refined carbohydrates become sticky quickly and cling to the teeth for long periods. They are easily broken down to acids by the bacteria in the mouth, these acids are primarily responsible for tooth decay. The best would therefore be to stick to natural unprocessed foods-fats, cereals, meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits and cheese. The sugar substitutes like saccharin also do not cause caries.

3. Other Foodstuffs:
Frequent consumption of acidic foodstuffs (like habitual drinking of carbonated drinks and excessive consumption of some fruit juices) is associated with erosions of the teeth. It is also suggested that one should end meals with fibrous foods such as carrots and other salads as fibrous foods might have a mild cleansing reaction as they remove food debris from the teeth.

4. OraMD
A natural treatment for oral problems is highly sought after. OraMD is the first all natural, highly effective dental care product created for total teeth and gum health, as well as overall dental hygiene. It is an all natural breath freshener, toothpaste, mouthwash - All in One!

The best remedy is sleep. However, if you are hungry, try baby food or chop foods that have gone through the blender. If you are thirsty, drunk water and milk.
Do not consume sugary or salty foods. This may cause some inflation which will extend the healing process.

try not to eat anything. if you chew something, and your mouth is numb, you dont want to risk biting your cheek or tongue. if you are really hungry though, i would stick to foods that you dont have to chew- smoothies, yogurt, ice cream...
