Im trying to figure out what the lords prayer means and what it is saying....can you help?

Our Father, who art in heaven
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,

on earth as it is in heaven.

as we forgive those
who trespass against us.

Can you recite this prayer in leimans terms or atleast tell me what it means?

God, up there in heaven.. you have a holy name. We're going to die but we are going to live like you want us to.. basically we are going to make earth just like heaven. we are humble, yet we still need your forgiveness .. so treat us like we treat others... but could you please give us a little help in the whole not messing up part.... the reason we ask is because we hear heaven is a rocking place and that you are all powerful and an all around cool supreme being.. and we'd really like to hang out some day.

first he said to pray for God's name Jehovah to be vindicated (he had been slandered by the devil) then he said to pray for the coming of the Kingdom Of God , then he said to pray for God's will to be done on earth , (God's will for the earth was to be a paradise, (that will be accomplished by the Kingdom Governrment then he told us to forgive others as we want to be forgiven by him. email me if you want more

The second half is petitioning to God for our needs.

It's the model prayer......not to be repeated over and over again like the pagans do....as Jesus Christ warned us about doing that........but just to be used as the model prayer.
