You can ask for forgiveness anywhere it does not have to be in a church. Many will say that the only true way to accept Christ is through baptism.

I personally believe it can happen any where any time. I was "saved" at a church camp once when I was 12 (I'm 25 now). Everyone around me was crying and getting saved left and right, I got caught up in all the emotion and did it too. Well, needless to say, nothing really happened. I felt the exact same, and was very disappointed. To genuinely be saved is when you truly open yourself up to God, Jesus, Mary, whoever it is you want to talk to, and say, in so many words, "I know I am in control of the decisions I make in my life, and I thank You for that freedom, but I know You love me and want what's best for me, so I give my life to You, I put my life in Your hands. Whatever happens, for good or ill, I'll have faith that it is what's best, no matter if I understand it or not. In the mean time, I will try to be a good person and do what I feel is right." THAT'S what I think it means to be saved, and it can be any where any time. Hope this helps. :)

you can be saved right where you are, right now. If you ask God to forgive you for all you've done that has offended Him. Mainly that is just not believing in Him before now. He will wash your spirit clean and you will be a new person in the kingdom of God.You must believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins so you could be saved and then you need to find a church and talk to someone there to encourage you and help you to better understand Gods new plan for your life.
I would suggest a non denominational or Baptist church.

You dont have to be in church to be saved. When a person decides to accept Christ as their personal Savior, God comes in to the heart of the person and their life is changed forever and it is awesome.
A person must believe Jesus is Gods Son, was crucified for our sins, rose in 3 days and will return to take saved souls to Heaven for eternity..
You can be by yourself, in your car, etc when you accept Jesus.. It will be the best decision you will ever make in your lifetime.
If you would like to talk more about it, email me....
Blessings~

When I got saved, it was the most incredible experience in my whole life.

I had never read the Bible. I did believe God existed, but I didn't know anything about Him.

I was living with a guy I wasn't married to, he was doing drugs and cheating on me. One night, in my misery, I cried out to God to please help me. I asked him to help me deal with painful feelings dealing with jealousy. Then I asked Him to please kill me in my sleep.

The next day I woke up angry because I hadn't died in my sleep and had to continue dealing with the pain and confusion in my life.

I turned on the tv. It was a religious show. The preacher was pointing at the camera. He was saying: "Are you in an abusive relationship? Are you dealing with painful emotions due to jeaousy? Is your life a mess and you don't know what to do? Are you tired of hurting and just want peace?"

I whispered, "yes, I am". He continued: "You're life isn't working for you because you are not living the way God wants you to live, and you aren't doing unto others as you would have them do unto you."

I gasped and said: "he's right."

God was speaking to me through the preacher and I knew it. God was calling me to live for Him. As soon as I said: "he's right" is the point at which I gave my life over to God.

My knees went weak and I fell on the floor sobbing. I felt different. I felt as if a big weight had been lifted off of me. I felt cleaner, and just different than before. I could feel an energy flowing through me that I had never felt before. Everything looked clearer to me. The trees, the flowers. . . . they seemed to be smiling at me. I had absolutely no idea what was happening to me. I had never read the Bible, nor had I ever heard of being "born again". God chose to touch my heart and that was the beginning of a new life. (the boyfriend got his butt kicked out and I began going to church.) This all happened in 1979. I've been living my life for God since then.

It could happen in church, it could happen wherever you are.

You're very welcome. Thanks for asking.

Oh yes. . . .I forgot to mention that I'm a Jew.

Hi southernprideinmyveins420. When a person becomes saved, they have a disire to do God's will and a disire to learn more about his word. But we must remember that just because we study His Word more it does not mean that we are truly saved.

Getting saved to me means giving everything you know about yourself to everything you know about God.

It can happen anywhere, not just in a church. It happens wherever you happen to be when you ask Christ into your life and make you a new person. And He will!

it depends on which religion you pick. Search your soul... find what you think is right for you.. and move on from there. That is the best advice anyone can give you.. because anything else is skewed by our own beliefs.

When you get saved, you get to choose from what's behind door #1, door #2 or door #3. Then Bob Barker comes out and gives you hints.
