Why would any god inspire a book, which is so easily mistranslated, etc....
Part of the reason there are so many different sects and denominations is simple difference in opinion about how to interpret particular parts of holy books.
Why would any god do that?
It makes much more sense that god would simply have a one on one communion with each individual, distilling the same knowledge in each.

No, that would make too much sense, I think god prefers that people get mislead and confused, so that satan can have some company!

I agree with you that the only way to determine what is truth is by communing with God directly. This is the basis of the doctrines and practice of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

"How can I know these things are true?" (Basic explanation) - http://www.mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/basic-beliefs/the-restoration-of-truth/how-can-i-know-this-is-true

As for why God would inspire a book which is so easily mistranslated.... People have to learn somehow. When one combines the written word with faith (ie absence of fear), humble prayer, pondering, meditation, and a moral life, the truth begins to become manifest WITHIN, and direct revelation becomes possible (John 16:13 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/16/13#13 )

People are finally using 'it' to refer to god. My quest has been fulfilled.

About the question...yup..god sure needs to learn communication skills. Do you think the folks who came up with the bible and similar texts read this book by Dale Carnegie: How to Make Friends and Influence People...except they didn't pay attention to the make friends part?

God does have one on one communication with individuals, but only if you seek after Him with a pure heart.

Good question.
If God exist he's not a good communicator.

Well, I do : I go directly to God and [He / She / It] talks to me, very nicely indeed.
[He / She / It] never told me to go and convert my fellow humans.
