Hi guys,

Any of u guys out there using free downloaded AVG Anti Virus software?

Have any of u been having problems when first signing in then u get a message saying AVG has stopped working. I go into AVG control centre and the arrow thats usually green is yellowey orange colour, but a message tells u to click on text and then it says AVG is now working and arrow changed back to green.

This started playing up yesterday, weird thing is, 2 or so days b4, my spybot got virtually same message.

Oh another thing u can help me on, I just remembered as I looked at wat I wrote here and saw all my errors. Sometimes when i try and move cursor back to correct spelling errors, when I retype correct letter, ther letter next dissapears, so does the next as I go on.

THanks guys

I've seen behavior like this on client's PCs.

Your computer is most likely infected with spyware or some trojan. This malware probably disabled AVG.

You need a thorough cleaning.

Hi Diamond G. I agree with Geoff. I have been using AVG since it was first published & It performs better than a lot of the hyped-up & overpriced "big names". Sounds like You have a registry problem. Try Advanced Windows Care from www.IObit.com , team it up with crap cleaner (www. ccleaner.com) & visit www.codeode.com for a good (and free!) suite of programs that will keep You running. It seems a sad reflection to Me that most of the utilities available as freeware & shareware out-perform their commercial counterparts. Maybe that the Guys (& Girls!) that write for enjoyment rather than pay put a bit more into it.

This is quite a common problem with Windows Vista, all you can do is start the program and run , until AVG or Microsoft come up with a fix.

Hi, I have used AVG when it was totally free. Now, I found what I feel is much better without the problems. I downloaded this from AOL and it is ACTIVE VIRUS SHIELD. Good luck.

dude!!! seems like everything on your pc has a bug in it... you should really get your pc reformatted!
and i agree with the other person who posted here saying you need to clean up your pc....

try some other free antivirus software or see if you give norton or mcaffee a trial run and clean up your pc. you might also need to use Ad-aware and spybot search and destroy to rid your pc of other malware (the non-virulent, but potentially damaging type). this however will probably not repair all the damage that has been done....
so you still need to reformat sooner or later and install a fresh copy of windows....

My AVG works fine - catches everything, but it once caught a bug which partly disabled it - best thing to do is delete it and download again - should work fine then!

ok, use a prog observed as revo uninstaller, its unfastened even though it has the potential to get rid of progs fromm the roots, if cant discover the remainder remmnents of zone alarm, attempt to place in the zone alarm returned and get rid of it with this prog and it will rip it from its roots and not something leftover

for your second question, you need to hit the insert key to stop overwriting.
