aside from running what else can i do to shed a couple inches off of my hip area?

swimming's great for losing weight. Unless you swim regularly, you won't be able to do many laps before you feel tired, but once you get into the hang of it, and you practice, you'll be able to do lots of laps without having to stop.

you could do some of them fitness dvds and videos they help alot or do star jumps or do step up thingys on ya bottom stair step

you could do a lot of different exercises. i like the workouts on exercisetv.tv
