When someone says that Pagans worship Satan, the statement usually comes either from ignorance or fear. Some people honestly do not know any better. Even in this world, there are those that are really quite unaware of anything outside their own sphere of existance, and sometimes they are quite happy to be there. The Bible says one thing, and that must be the truth, because anything else would violate their own expectations.
Some people are afraid, really afraid, of anything that does not fit into their nice little box. For these people, there are only two choices, and everything is black and white. You either worship God or Satan.
Honestly, though, how can the worship of nature translate into a worship of Satan? The assumption is merely people being ignorant or fearful.

When the Christians were originally spreading their new faith, they encountered quite a lot of resistance in many pagan communities. Many pagans worship a Horned God; early Christian priest likened this god to the Christian Satan, thus demonizing the old religion and justifying the new.
Unfortunately, that attitude, however false, still prevails among those who make no effort to understand what we ACTUALLY believe.

Its true what the someone said in here, the old gods of paganism specifically the ones with the more fantastical features: Horns, animal limbs, multiple eyes, etc etc. became the biblical illustrations of what you would call a demon or the devil. This was done to sabotage the pagan religion and did so with great success.
Another is that many pagans are not strangers to magic and rituals. I' ll level with you here, magic requires nothing but the will to make it happen. Prayer is a form of magic, when you pray for something to happen in your life (job, relationship, meaning) you are simply wishing for this to materialize in your life. Magic is the same thing, circling a symbol on the ground 3 times, visualizing your desired goal, are merely aids to bring that into your life. There is no summoning of satan or his minions to grant us supernatural powers. But magic was characterized by the early church as demonic just like the old gods. thus anyone who was found out was killed(many who were not even witches were killed) The church convinced people witches were out to get you, to summon the anti-christ.
Another reason is our open acceptance of any group, particular of homosexuals. My close pagan friend is openly gay, I am very straight, I could not imagine myself condemning him to hell for expressing his love in different ways then mine.
All of the assumptions you hear about us, are not true. We worship nature in various forms, spirits, gods, and others. Hell is not even in our religion at all.
Edit: They don't want you the individual to realize that there is not one but many paths to god, and none of them are wrong.

They say it as a form of judgement.
It's a point of release for what they are made of.
Hate is the only kind of fruit they can produce.
You'll know them by their fruits.
It isn't what goes into us that defiles it's what comes out.
What comes at us is hate what comes out is love.
There's no sense in it.
They say the same about me and I follow Christ.
The difference is I obey the commandments of Christ.
The ones accusing Pagans of Satan worship do not obey the commandments of Christ.
I consider myself every religion known to humanity because I am part of Christ and Christ said "Whatever you do to the least of these you do also to me."
From the vantage point of Christ the only Christian thing I can do is to side with the Pagans.
The commandments:
God is Love.
Do not judge.
Love your God with all your heart.
Love your neighbour as yourself even if he hates you.
It's that simple.

When the early church was trying to convert everyone to the new religion they took the old pagan gods (The ancient Horned God in particular) and demonised them to frighten people into believing in their new faith. Satan is a Christian invention. Pagans know nothing about satan let alone worship him.

few if any pagans "worship satan". they worship pagan deities and or trees etc...if someone wants to call God's creation satan or the devil then they're stupid.
I dont' call someone a devil worshipper merely because they don't worship as I do. I've got better things to worry about.

To be honest, I'm never treated as such in my experience. I think people are educated enough these days to know the difference. I'm either befriended instantly, or shrugged off as one of many "New Agers". Although I'm not.

To many conservative Christians, if you don't worship the Judeo-Christian God, then you worship Satan.
The fact that pagans have nothing to do with Satan, and in fact most of us don't even *believe* in Satan, is unimportant to them. It's not their God, therefore "it's Satan."
It's that sort of black-and-white that leads to the insane amounts of intolerance in the world.
(Thank you, primoa and kiki, for being perfect examples of this narrow-mindedness.)

well i can say we do not worship Satan, we worship , mostly, two gods, the lord and lady. th lord is known as the horned god because he has the antlers of a stag to symbolize fertility, that's what links him to the devil, but ha is NOT the devil!
