Celebrate Indian Independence. BTW, when I was visiting Lahore back in 1990, I noticed a very welcoming attitude of the local people towards the Sikhs in turbans. I am sorry to hear that such humanity is not being expressed today.
As you can tell, I am a Muslim, and the one thing I have learned from the older Sikhs is that the biggest mistake made back in 1947 was the formation of Pakistan. I too have to agree. If today India was 1 country--not separated by religion, I am absolutely certain that the level of poverty would not be like what it currently is for both countries today. It still surprises me to see that the new Silicon Valley--in Bangalore--costs more to live there than it does in the Silicon Valley (Santa Clara) in California USA!!! Where is the tech centers in Pakistan??? My point exactly.

Basically you understand one thing:- All the 10 Sikh Gurus names are Hindu names- sri.Guru Naanak Dev-sri.Guru Ramdas, sri.Guru Tej Bahadur(whose Head was cut by Aurangazeeb-Muslim-Mogal Emperor and kept in Seesh Ganj for Public view to terrorise Hindus and Sikhs-sri.Guru Gobind Singh(whose two sons were killed by Mogul-Muslim-Emperor)-The Present and One of the Best Prime Ministerers India ever has had is Sardhar.Dr.Manmohan Singh is a Sikh.--Do not shed crocodile tears for Sikhs.They are very strong and excellent patriots---do not try to be over smart-everybody knows your identity.

during independence, there was a lot of violence at first, on all sides. indira made mistakes, but then again she paid with her life when her sikh bodyguards killed her. now sikhs live and worship freely in an independent india. if you lived in pakistan, you wouldn't be able to. so yes, there is reason to be happy about indian independence.
