Never tip the owner of the restaraunt, they earn enough money as it is, you should tip your waiter if they provided good service, the better the service the more you tip, enjoy :-D

It depends; if you find the owner did a good job running the place & you've obtained great pleasure for the services & food; why not?

Some of the owners are not that rich, they still have to pay rent & do jobs behind the kitchen & etc. all kinda jobs to run the place.
If an owner operates the restaurant longer thn working hours & keep the food fresh & their staff well trained & prepares extra things/special things for you. It's your option to tip or not, you hold the money :)

No. Workers are paid substandard wages because tipping is such a big part of our society now. As far as I'm concerned, tipping is nothing more than a payroll surcharge on your meal. The boss should be paying the workers, not the diners.

If the income from the business is so low that you have to tip the owner, enjoy the restaurant while you can because the guy's going broke.

I say tip the owner. They probably will give it to the rest of the waitstaff. I am a manager and any tips I get I save in an envelope and then use it to treat the employees to pizza or some other treat.

When in doubt, just leave your tip on the table. The restaurant staff will divvy it up according to their formula.

Heck no, they make enough money... Unless it's a cute mom and pop shop where the owners actually work the place themselves and serve you.

You tip the person who serves you, so if the owner was the one who served you, yes.

If he or she is the one taking your order, refilling your drinks and bringing your food, then yes. Just put your tip on the table when you leave and it will go to the appropriate person.

No not the owner - I mean I guess if they are also your waiter - but that seems so wrong.

No do not tip!

I always tip good service; but only because I want to, and not out of obligation.
