I don't get it. You guys believe in the exact same crap. You both worship the exact same God. You both believe Jesus dies for your sins. You both follow the same 10 commandments. Is it really worth hating one another simply because you guys worship the SAME EXACT GOD just a little bit differently????

I attend a Baptist church, but I don't hate Catholics. I find a lot of things wrong with what most Catholics believe, but I know that it's possible to be a true Christian and Catholic. The problem between Baptists and Catholics is that their doctrines in many ways oppose one another. Most Baptists are very strong about following the Bible alone, while Catholics believe the Church father's, the pope, and tradition carry equal weight with it. Baptists are adamant about believer's baptism, while Catholics baptist infants.

Mostly because of not knowing much about the sameness nor of the differences either...ignorance is what breeds hate of the "others". In the US South, the Klu Klux Klan went out after Catholics...and among the uninformed or uneducated Catholics, Baptists were considered an off-brand 'sect' and not a religion at all--they even confused them with snake-handlers, Holy Rollers, etc. Our immediate family includes Catholics, Baptists, Ba'Hai, Anglican and Mormon...we all get along great as long as we don't talk about religion--but we have educated ourselves along the way about each other's beliefs and let it go at that.

I disagree with your use of the word "crap", but I do agree with you on the behavior of over-zealous Catholics and Baptists, among others.

Christians do worship the same God, and it's more fruitful to focus on the similarities in doctrine, rather than obsess over the differences.

Catholics do not spend much time thinking about Baptists. I think most Catholics just think of Baptists as just another group of Protestants. If Baptists hate Catholics (which I do not believe), the hate is one-sided.

hey, the Baptist hate Catholics first, but the Catholics just ignore them. so "hating each other" is not the case. it's all one-sided-hate from the Baptist.

I think you have painted with a broad brush here. My sister (and I) are Catholic and her husband (my brother-in-law) is Baptist.

We don't hate Catholics, we hate thier system thier doctrines are not biblical.

Timothy I 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Timothy I 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Anything or anyone teaches against the bible, I do not stand with.

Thessalonians II 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
Timothy I 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
Timothy I 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Timothy I 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

They are an enemy of the word of God
