I have had what I think is sleep paralysis about three times during my lifetime. I was wondering if I what I experienced if similar to what others experienced.

I've done it twice. the first time was kind of scary... i was awake but couldnt move. i felt more heard a buzzing noise, and i could have sworn i saw a shadow of someone standing over me. it really felt as if someone or something was holding me down. i was like that for probably only a couple of seconds, but seemed like longer. i finally came out of it when one of my frat brothers slammed a door and jolted me fully awake. pretty scary. at first i thought it was a ghost. lol

Dispite the name sleep paralysis, you are wide awake, and you can't move a muscle.
