To park for a least a week and use a bike to work? The environment around will improve, not to mention your health.

Nope. It's a 55 mile one way drive to work. And I live in an area where biking is impossible due to the fact that I'd need either a good mountain bike to get over the roads, and there's that little thing called winter.

If you want to help the environment, turn off your computer. The coal plants that are used to produce the energy for most of the United States spew off more greenhouse gases than even a thousand cars.

And even if global warming did exist, I'm not going to park my truck.

Im sure it would. But I don't want to ride a bike. It's over a 100 degrees outside. Some people do not live very close to their jobs. I use to live in one town and work in another. There is no way in hell i would ride over 20 miles on a bike, mostly cause that would not be fun. Sure, i'd drop 40 lbs, and maybe even feel better. But lets face it...I'm lazy..and I don't mind admitting it. I am what I am.

well it wasnt for the environment, but I parked my car over a year ago and currently walk or bike to work daily. I love it. Its a great stress reliever.
and for the people saying its too far - we have a doc at work who rides over 30 miles to work on his bike - year round, and yes, it snows here....

Considering that I have to travel over 80 miles roundtrip each day to work I wouldn't consider biking there but if my county (Miami-Dade) had a public transportation system worth a damn, I'd definitely park my truck. Sixteen buses and five hour travel time each way just isn't worth it though.

No. I drive for a living, and even if I didn't, it's 20 miles from my home to the nearest grocery store.

You city dwelling tree huggers have no concept of what it's like to live in a place where your nearest neighbor is more than a mile away, and your vehicle is part of your daily life and a means of survival..

No. I don't own a vehicle, and live too far from work to bike, but I will continue taking the train.

It takes me around 30 minutes to get to work (driving), it'd take a LONG time walking or on a bike, besides it's too hot in Louisiana to walk to get your mail, much less a 15 mile walk.

Gee, as nice and warm and fuzzy that that sounds, I live 15 miles from where I work and it's 110 here, so I'm going to have to go ahead and say "NO".
