In the same way the children of Michael Jordan or Elvis Presley are standing in a tall shadow?

I mean, he was supposed to be the son of God. Those are pretty big shoes.

Michael Jordan and Elvis Presley will be completely forgotten in 50 years. The name of Christ will be known throughout eternity. Christ will soon give you a new world, as promised in "The Revelation of Jesus Christ"

However, during his lifetime he was the most hated man in the world. He had only 12 apostles who truly believed in him. Even those who saw him work miracles ofter said that he did it through Satan. This is the way it was meant to be.

Jesus succeeded in everything He wanted to succeed doing.

Jesus was not only the Son of God, but Jesus was God. Jesus said, "I and the Father are One." That is pretty plain writing.

I guess it would depend on your definition of success and your definition of "during his time". By today's standards, he wasn't successful...he didn't own a home or have a prestigious job with a large salary, he didn't have a wife and children. However, wherever he went, thousands of people followed him and listened to what he had to say. He was important enough for the Romans to execute him publicly despite the fact that he hadn't violated any Roman laws that warranted execution. ...and despite the fact that he didn't have a notable job or produce any offspring that did great things and despite the fact that he died a criminal's death, hundreds of thousands of people know who he was over 2000 years after his death...how many other itinerate carpenters can say that?

As for "in his time", if you believe as I do that he rose from the dead and is still alive today, then it is still his time...and his words are still spreading...sounds pretty successful to me.

Not at all. He could have wiped out the whole Roman Empire with a snap of his finger. He was fulfilling God's will for what had to be done.

I think Jesus' humbleness and calling to serve others surpassed his need to secure contracts with Nike and Arista Records. LOL I think Jesus knew that achieving his calling would prove difficult given that man in and of ourselves are inherently worldly (not spiritual) beings.

From the Book of Jay-Hova:

"To try and to fail, the two things I hate
Succeed in this Savior game, the two things is great
H to the izz-O, V to the izz-A
What else can I say about dude, I gets bizzay"

I think he was pissed that daddy sent him down there in a time without microwave popcorn or Playstations. I mean come on, it's bad enough having to die on a cross, but to first have to live for 30+ years without even basic amenities?

At least Michael Jordan and Elvis never had their kids tortured and executed.
