We'd be as technologically advanced as the primitive men who wrote it.

If you left your Bible in school, I'd encourage you to go back and get it -- it doesn't do you any good if you leave it at school and don't read it.

And I'll bet you dollars to donuts you can find a Bible, and/or Biblical commentaries in most high school libraries. I know you can find one in a public library.

So is the problem lack of access or not actually reading it?

And for that matter, what does the Bible have to do with technological advancements??

The Bible is a book of God's Word. It is history, poetry, law prophesy and many others. It does not keep us from having free will or freedom of thought and ideas. Keeping the Bible would only have helped make us a more moral country. It would not have stopped technology.

it doesnt have any thing to do with it!technowledge comes from man. if the bible was left in school and in homes we wouldnt have school shootings and gang violance rape murder and other things as much as we do now! look at the times when bible was in school children werent doing drive bys or things of that nature when we folled the good book in school children actually had manors and respect for others now look at the times with the removal of the bible, and no it dont teach not to let women be teachers(another comentor) and no we would not be prehistoric those people are idiots. look at the differences in today and yester year yes of course there was always a bad apple but the bible teaches us how to live, love and grow in a good way.

Chippy,

Yes, we would be. If you were to go back in history, you would find that some of the greatest scientists were Bible believers-Gregor Mendel, Johanne Kepler, Louis Pasteur to name a few. Christians realize that the complexity of this world did not come about by chance but was designed by a Being that has immeasurable power and wisdom. True science is not a hinderance to the christians faith.

Let me put it to you this way. I doubt that the Bible and Technology have too much to do with each other. The Bible is God's communication of His relationship with us as humans. Technology is how we as humans are making use of the materials He left us to work with and improve our lives. I know plenty of scientists and engineers who are Christian and they have no conflict in trying to improve the human situation through better technology.

Since the behavior of Children seems to have worsened since the Bible was taken out of the classroom, it may have actually slowed things down because of lessons that are not delivered to a respectful class.

No.
I'm "loosely Christian" and I think that leaving the bible in school would interfere with everyday things. Some, and note I said some not all, Christians don't believe in certain technological advances (or even don't like the use of medication). Those would influence and discourage some things that we use/do now. Somethings of the top of my head that might not exist if the bible was left in school-
Genetic sciences, transgendered surgery, body improvement surgery and so much more.

We would be more advanced. Because the truth sets us from from wrong thinking. And with Truth comes freedom & comes increase in all the good things God wants to give us.

Gods Word is in the bible. That is why Bible School is sooo important.

I think our scientific achievements would not have been adversely effected.

But, take a look at our society in general. There hasn't been prayer in school in over 40 years. [even I didn't have prayer in school!] NOT to push a certain religion or belief - [I am NOT advocating that at all] but all the values and the 'do unto others' that went with it seems to be gone. Perhaps it's just normal societal evolution, an unrelated.

I am NOT for forced prayer in schools, please don't assume that. But, look at the trends in society. I don't see a link with science at all, just with values and morals in general. [not everyone LOL]

To study the Bible does not negate scientific advancement any more than studying Shakespeare or any classic literature does...you give the Bible a lot of power...
