Wow. A believer who's actually honest with herself. Never thought I'd live to see the day!

No, I believe in the Christian God for many many intelligent/logical reasons. I also believe in God for personal reasons... the way God works in my life and the way God answered my prayers.
It has nothing to do with wanting to believe in an afterlife. Otherwise I'd rather believe in reincarnation or some mystical beliefs.

Actually, I believe in God because I think that God's existence is a fact. If I no longer believed that, I would not continue in this belief solely for the illusion of an afterlife, or the chance to be reunited with my relatives. I would accept non-existence and not really worry about it.

Religion is for sure a choice. I choose to be a Religious Scientist because I want to. I choose to believe in God because I want to. The reason I want to - is because it helps me be a better person - and I want to be a better person.
I believe God to be LOVE - so it's pretty easy to believe in God. I don't think that God is a judging, big Daddy in the sky. I don't want to live my life based on a fear or a reward that's going to happen after I die. But hey - that might work for some people - and if it helps them along their life path - that's a good thing.
Namaste!

As your question indicates g-d is nothing for you but your own opinions, emotional voids, life responses, wishful thinking, questions about the unknown and unresolved desires.
Nice to find someone who admits to that type of problem. It is called being lost or alienated from God. As in AA, such an admission could be your first step to recovery.
Heb. 11:6 is a practical test which God will accept to prove His existence.

we are distinctive in that we believe in precisely one God. Jehovah is a Triune God. this suggests that the Godhead is 3 factors that are all equivalent and not separate. all of them have the right same attributes. there's no demigod and there are not any distinctive gods as in the referenced religions. we don't stick to angels. We stick to God. Angels are messengers of God. Demons, so a methods as could nicely be ascertained, are fallen angels that stay on, and around, earth. devil is the fallen angel Lucifer.

I am a christian and I do believe in God. I believe that when I die I will finally meet my grandparents, I will meet my grandma mae that passed away last year, I believe that I will have my own house with God as my neighbor. So yes this is why I believe, but also because I have seen the power of God in my life and HE is truly amazing.

Actually, I have no relatives "waiting for me" in Heaven.
I believe because at a Pentecostal altar, with tears and a desire to know Him and who He really is, I found Him. And when I found Him, I realized that I was the one that was found.
He gave me what life could not give me. He spoke to my spirit and heart, and was a friend that stuck closer than all other friends during innumerable amount of times in the past.
Now He has blessed me in ways I'd never expected.
I believe, know and love Him, well, simply as 1st John 4:19 says, "we love Him, because He first loved us."

I think there might be some confusion to your question, because it sounds like that is you only reason for believing in God, but I think that you said "because you want to" because atheists don't believe in anything and believing in God gives you a peace and comfort that atheists don't have. We have the knowledge that there is more than just this life, that we have eternity with Christ to look forward to. I understand that philosophy, but there is more to believing in God than "wanting to". I believe in God because I want to, but mainly because of the changes he has brought about in my life, I know in my heart and soul that there is a God. My answer was in no way meant to condemn anyone for their beliefs, it is not my place to judge anyone.

Admit what?
Because I want to?
I beleive that the sky is green and you beleive it is yellow, yet what color is the sky? Will what we believe change the truth?
Hindus beleive in God, and I'll go to the extreme and say that Lucifer beleives in God, but is beleiving enough?
You say you beleive in God, but what G-d are you referring to?
the G-d of Abraham, Issac and of Jacob?
Or another God? the God of the Islam faith?
Or budda?
Let's say you beleive in G-d, using your terms, and that you deny the afterlife, thus deny the resserection.... where does that place you? how about a Judas? or an Esau? Naw, something worse.... as foretold prophetically by Yeshua and the Apostles.... That is called an antichrist spirit... or the spirit of the antichrist that is in the world...
You cannot truly believe in the G-d of Abraham, Issac or Jacob and deny the resserection...

I would word that statement differently:
I've looked at and analyzed all the available evidence and I conclude that God exists inspite of that fact that others examine the same evidence and conclude the opposite.
I've examined the secular evidence for the existence of Jesus of Nazaraeth and I believe there be be sufficient evidence for me to conclude that he did infact exact exsist and that events documented in Bible are true.
I'm not a person who believes blindly. I looked it over and I've analyed it and I came to a different conclusion than others.
