get married and stay there? could i wait there until green card comes through?

Actually, you can travel to the US with a tourist visa (not the visa waiver), marry a US citizen, and apply for adjustment of status. It is perfectly legal to do this, even though it might make other folks all snorty, and we consular officers don't like it much, either.

You can't do this if your fiancee is only a permanent resident, by the way.

You may not get married in the US on a tourist visa. If you wish to travel here to get married, you need to have a fiance visa. You could get the process started while you are here, however it is likely that you would have to go home before everything comes through.

u go tourist visa, but u have to complete forms for your change of status.....
