I admit to being shocked that anyone answered this in the affirmative.

My faith instills in me a deep regard for life. I consider my life to be a great gift that I shouldn't squander or be wreckless with. I would better serve my faith as a living testament to my beliefs.

So no, I would not die for my faith, I will live for it.

Well Aliya, Is faith the only thing that prevents you from killing and raping? I wouldn't do those things because of personal intergrity. I would fight rather than let anyone coerce me into harming an innocent. Not for God but because it's the right thing to to do. Since I have no allegiance to any God, I couldn ever bemanipulated by any religion.

Having no God gives me nothing to die or kill for, having reverence for life gives me important things to live for.

Judaism requires that you do almost whatever you must to save a life. There are three exceptions: idolatry, murder, and sex crimes. For a Jew to commit one of these sins would be worse than death.

Therefore:

If a man held a gun to my head and said, "Kill this person or I will kill you," I would die for my faith.

If a man held a gun to my head and said, "Rape this child or I will kill you," I would die for my faith.

If a man held a gun to my head and said, "Publicly forsake your God," I would die for my faith.

Preserving life is one of the most important things in the world, and we may violate laws we would otherwise never consider transgressing to this end, but there are principles that outrank survival.

His4Life,
It depends on where your concepts of right and wrong come from. If you believe that all the rules of creation and what is harmful or not harmful to others has been determined by the Creator, then what is wrong is wrong because the Creator has designed it to be a wrong thing. Therefore, not murdering, for me, would be a matter of faith because I believe it would be possible for the Creator to have created a world in which murder would be a positive thing. Fact is, He didn't.

Now, in the Jewish religion we believe that there are universal laws that all people should be born instinctively knowing. Murder happens to be one of those things (there are seven - see second and third source), so while for ME to not murder is an act of acknowledging that it is wrong AND that it is wrong because the world was created that way, for a non-Jew it would be wrong just because it IS WRONG.

Does that answer your question?

If death is what my God wants of me, sure I would. He would have to have a good reason, I am not the one to question that. However, I can say that as I do not believe for a second that this would ever be something my God would ask of me. I am a little afraid that things will get really rough when Satan chooses to show himself in fake glory and fake sparkle and claims to be Jesus coming back. Things will all be different then. I'm not sure exactly how, but I do know it's gonna be rough. That period of time may kill many, but it won't be because God asked, or required it. It'll be because Satan is a **** and can fool many, or most ppl.

Blessed Be

Considering there isn't a religion that allows us to live in this body forever without dieing, I would think we all die for our faiths.Faith allows us to let go and move on and takes some of the fear of dieing away.None of us no matter how much we profess are religion is better than the next, will know the real truth till after we die.

I'd like to think I would be willing to die rather than turn away from God, but I hope I never have to find out. I do know that the Nazis would try to get people to capitulate, promising that they wouldn't kill them. Then the people would cave in and be killed anyway, so they died right after saying something they shouldn't have said.

People have sacrificed themselves for their ethics or faith, but I would hope it was in dire circumstances. As a mom, I would always try to survive because I have children who need me. I serve my gods better by doing good in the world than by being a martyr. Now, a scarier question would be: who among you would kill for your faith?

There are currently Christians being murdered for their faith in Nigeria and the Middle East. Personally I wouldn't go looking for martyrdom but if I was clearly put in that position then I would have to accept it.

I've actually been thinking a lot about that lately. I'm known as a strong, strong-willed, courageous, brave person, and I'd like to think I could handle it; but I'm not fearless. The truth is, thinking about it is kinda scary sometimes. that's why I'm relying on God for everything when it comes down to it. I can't, but he can. The Lord is my courage and strength on whom I lean.

Have faith that there is no death and then this question is not really posed at you but only who you thought that you were. I certainly will die to live.

We all should answer yes to this question because, if you consider yourself a Christian, Jesus died for his faith and for our sins. Christians are supposed to imitate Christ. Jesus Christ knew that even though he died by man's hands, Jehovah God would be able to resurrect him. We should not fear those who harm our bodies, we should fear not being remembered by God when it's time for resurrection. So if I die for believing in Jehovah God, I know that he will resurrect me just as he did Jesus Christ.

It isn't about being willing to die for diverse religions, it is about knowing the TRUTH (Jesus Christ) and being willing to live by it, and dying if it becomes necessary.
