"Whoever believes with their hearts that Jesus is the Christ and confess it with their tongues shall enter the kingdom of heaven."

Something like that - not John 3:16, but there's another one that's more closely worded like that - in one of the Timothys perhaps?

hi Bruce. Others have already given my undemanding answer. needless to say St. Paul, the Apostles and different proclaimers of Jesus' Church seen their very own understanding and teachings of Christ's lifestyles through fact the beginnings of His new Church's Scripture alongside with The previous testomony, despite if it hadn't been thoroughly prepared, scribed and collated. Protestants : As a Catholic who gets disgusted on each occasion I pay attention anti-Catholic rhetoric, I say sorry noticeably for the lack of expertise of Ooops and the different offensive or inflammatory anti-Protestant solutions. His militant physique of techniques is neither taught via the Catholic Church neither is it shared via the commonplace public of Catholics. Sola Scriptura is a doctrine I as a Catholic do no longer stick to yet do know as a Protestant concept and can be respected as such, as could the early Protestant Church leaders. bearing on differing Christian ideals alongside with the ideals of others of the worlds religions to a minimum of one yet another is a stable component and can be fostered. Treating others, the two Christians and non-Christians in a non-Christlike way shouldn't. i'm specific the question became asked proceeding the former and not the latter. Regards Lenny.

Romans 10:8-13

8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

Acts 4:12

Romans 10:9-11
9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Be aware that the letter to the Romans was intended for the Jews in Rome, who did not accept Jesus as the Messiah. It is not enough to believe and say Jesus is Lord. Christ Himself said that not all those who cry out "Lord, Lord" will be saved.
