The reason I am asking this question is because the doctors said said to make sure and flush twice, wash things twice that has your body fluid on it. This is when it is within 48 hours of a chemo treatment. That is our concern!

Nothing would happen to you. However, the cancer patient is often at risk from exposure to you especially when their blood counts are low. Cancer patients taking chemo treatment have lowered immune systems and can pick up viruses and bacteria from other people very easily. You should be careful around them if you have a cold, the flu, or bacterial infections. Cancer patients should also avoid anyone with chicken pox.

So, this is more of a case of you being more dangerous to an immune compromised cancer patient than their fluid would be to you.

Likely nothing much. Urine can be a bit toxic after some kinds of chemo but it's not like battery acid. Just rinse off like you would with anyone else's body fluid.

The drugs used in chemotherapy can be quite toxic.

Prolonged exposure to them can be harmful. This is why oncology nurses usually double glove and wear waterproof aprons, and linen from oncology wards are treated seperately.

If basic hygiene precautions are used, then a brief, occasional exposure is probably safe.

However, if handling soiled linen etc, gloves should be worn, and any skin exposed to fluids should be washed carefully.

I have cancer and am going through chemo, nothing happens to another person. Cancer and chemo is not contagious. You need to get educated please, on chemo and cancer patients, I'm stunned at the question.
